History:Born in South Carolina, Elizabeth Holmes was raised to be a young lady. At age fourteen, she had been out for a ride, and when it had started to storm, she headed back. Her life changed when she saw her home burning. After crying for her family, she was soaked, but went around her house and searched for any remains. She found her father's medallion, and took it with her and headed into a forest. She then was taken in by Ben Martin and his family, and four years later, she is still looking for her family's murderers.
Weapons (if applicable):She carries a dagger on her to ensure her saftey, but she can also handle a gun and rifle.

History: Daughter of a wealthy merchant and shopowner, but he was killed by the British. She went to her friends, the Martins, for help. She is staying with them for a couple of weeks until her uncle can come down from Virginia and collect her. Unfortunately, the major part of the war starts first.
Weapons (if applicable): Carries a couple of knives and one revolver, which she has never had to use, but can handle it very well, as her father, grandfather, and uncle taught her.

Elizabeth Holmes, the orphaned daughter of James and Lynn Holmes, looked up from her book that she was reading, and sighed. Her mind had been discracted from her duties as a caretaker of the Martin children. Though Margaret helped her, Elizabeth was the oldest female in the household, followed by Miranda, so she had been taking care of the younger children.

She stood up and walked toward the open doorway, and smiled as she saw the younger children-Susan, Nathan, William, and Samuel run around in the yard. Margaret and Thomas were cleaning the house, and Gabriel was off in the army. Miranda was somewhere in the house, where exactly, Elizabeth did not know.

She suddenly turned as she heard footsteps, startled by the noise.

Miranda was hanging clothes up, but looked up sharply when she heard footsteps. She ran to the house.

Elizabeth sighed softly as she saw Margaret, and said, "What is it?" "Someone's heading toward the house...Thomas spotted him."

"You couldn't tell who it was?" she asked.

The younger woman shook her head.

"Kids, get in here, now!" she called to the four youngest children. They looked at her with incredious stares, but obeyed. One thing they had learned was not to defy Elizabeth.

She shook her head. "Get Ben..he'll be able to defend us. Margaret, get those kids upstairs..I'll look for Thomas." Margaret immedatly ushered the children up the stairs, and Elizabeth looked at Miranda, before walking away, looking for the thirteen-year old boy.

Miranda ran out the back door and to the barn. "Mr. Martin!" she said, bursting into the room. "Someone's coming."

"Who?" he asked.

"We don't know."

He dropped his tools and followed her to the house, where Elizabeth was waiting for them.
