Reyas slashed at the black men and ran, but could not run fast enough. He caught sight of two elves standing at the edge of the woods. He leapt up to the female, swinging his shortswords so fast they were blurs. Her horse shied, but he grabbed hold of the rein and tried to unseat the rider.

Jaxson brought his sword to meat the neck of an incoming army man fro the Black army, jumping off the tall rock he stood on he began hacking skillfuly at the men.

But this was not a battle that would be wone it seemed, his escape plan was already in motion.

Rhan clung onto her horse for dear life "What the-!" She glared at the man, and kicked the horses flanks, causing it to rear up, and tear off, dragging the human through the dirt. At length she stopped , and dismounted, clasping her sides, and pulling her sword.
"Who are you?" she spat, watching her brother ride off.

"This is hardly the time for conversation, lady," Reyas snapped, and tried to knock the elf off-balance. He swung up onto her horse, yanked hard on the reins. The beast balked as the black men came swarming towards them.

"You wouldn't mind hitching me a ride, would you?"

Rhan stared, then jumped on behind him "I would, but I see I have no choice..." she wrapped her arms around his waist. 2Take it easy on my horse." she said "He is of elvish breed, but weary from many leagues riding..."

Jax continued to fight. He blocked a sword from an incoming foe, and swung low with his fist hitting the man in the gut.

Another man swung as Jaxson swung the sword from the first man, blocked the scond attack, and kicked the first man again in the tomach.

Jumping over the first man as he bent over jaxson came donw ontop of him and threw a dager into the second man as another came at him.

He grabbed his dager and dodged the attack, slicing the man in half.

The steed broke in a full gallop, balking again as more black men charged. Reyas's ash bow twanged. Two men went down with arrows in their throats, not even given time to utter their last death gurgles. A man cloaked in black and wielding a dagger stood in their path as the horse moved rapidly through the chaos of refugees. Reyas took one glance at the man in their way, gave no thought, and sliced down with his shortsword -

"For gods sake!" Rhan cried, and pulled the reins to the side, steering them out of reach of the man "You cant just go around killing everyone!"

Jax saw the horse running, they were comming his way.

"This will work fine." he thought to himself.

He continued fighting, using the rock he stood on as a deffensive position to fend off the men at the time being.

Reyas shot another arrow behind them, glared at the elf, but said nothing. Presently they came up on a rise and left the sounds of battle behind them. Reyas looked back. Most of the refugees were gone. The black men had allowed none to flee and none to live. They moved among the stragglers, killing them one by one until there were none left alive.

Reyas stared at the killing for a moment. They were just another group of pawns in the eyes of the black men, soon to be obliterated and left to rot in the uncaring sands of fate. He felt the elf in the saddle behind him and wondered if her forests had suffered yet.

Rhan looked about her, lip curling in disgust at what she saw "Are you going to tell me your name then?" she asked carefully, avoiding his eyes.

"Is there a need to?" Reyas said, dismounting from the horse to survey the killing below. He pulled his cowl over his hand and stared at her for a moment, considering. At last he growled, "Reyas."

As the two road by on the horse Jaxson jumped infront of them... But to the surpise of the men he had previously been fighting. (those still alive)
He was no where to be seen, he had vanished.

Jaxson listened as Reyas and Rhan talked...

In his younger days Reyas's lip would have curled in scorn at such a petty display of sentiments. Recently however he was not so certain.
