"Thank you." the elf said in a harder tone, and tugged at the reins of the impatient horse "I would odffer to accomodate you in the palace tonight, but I'm sure a man like you would far to busy...? Either way, you would do good to get away from here."

Reyas shrugged, not really caring. "As you wish...."

He looked around at the forest they were entering, mildly intrigued. "Where would that palace be, high elf?"

"Where else but the wood?" Rhan smiled "It is a fair haven for the wounded sir."

Jaxson Pax followed along behind slowly, and secretly.

He might not be able to beat an elf in combat but one thing he could do was keep from being seen.

Reyas shrugged again and mounted the horse.

"We had best leave," he said with a pointed look at the black men closing in from behind.

"Help yourself." She squeezed the horses flanks, and it shot up and into the wood, fast as lightning.
The trees swept past in emarald green, as they rode ever deeper inside it.

The lush emerald of the wood, a sharp contrast to the dying ebony of the dark elf forests, disconcerted him. He closed his eyes against the pain. A moment later he opened them again, sneering at himself for his weakness.

The high elven halls were nearing....

[Rhav, can you narrate the elves? I'm not sure how you'll want your kingdom to look....]

The rode past a few canopy-like tents, filled with lush rugs and many candles. As they drew near the middle of tents, a large house loomed up, built around a massive tree with bark as black as night. The horse pulled to a halt as its hoves hit cobbelstones before it. Three tall elves came hurring out. they stared at Reyas with distaste.
"What is this?" one of them asked angrily.
"A guest."

Reyas returned the angry looks with a dispassion he had used numerous times.

"A dark elf," he challenged quietly.

"Dont patronise me human!" the elf sneered. Rhan threw the reins to the other elf and, and dismounted "A fine way we treat our guests Filug." she said quietly, just the hint of a threat in her voice. Filug shook his head agrily, and stormed off.

Reyas dismounted and settled down to quietly note his surroundings. His hands paused at the hilt of his shortswords.

"Excuse me," he said with a mock bow to Rhan.

He strode over to the surrounding underbrush, stopping to listen. Suddenly he jumped in, grabbed something, and dragged it back out on the tip of his shortsword.

It was a man, and he looked vaguely familiar.

Jaxson followed closly behind until they came to the elves.

He did not have a horse, but he could keep up easily enough.

he watched and waited until the two elves disapeared.

Jaxson Pax was not in what would be called good terms with all the elves... But he had his friends and contacts.

From behind he approched the two riders that had come from the refuge encampment.

"Is it a correct understanding that I have that the two of you wish to stop the Black men?" he asked calmly.

Reyas kept his blade steady. Under the shadows of his hood a fire blazed in his eyes. It was gone in a second, with Reyas not certain if the man had seen it or not.

"Who are you?" he snarled, ignoring the question.

"My name died when I did." Jaxson shot back.

Then control his words he replied. "I am a hired killer, they call me X."
