This RPG is set in the world of The Wheel of Time, where everything is part of a 'pattern' spun out by the Wheel of Time. There is a Creator, and a Dark one, in this world, though honestly the Creator is more of a background person who never seems to intervene.

If you want to join, and you haven't read any of the books, PM me and I'll reply with some background info, which just looks daunting when it's posted in this thread.

Anyways, this RPG is set during the Trolloc Wars, when hundreds of Thousands of Trollocs, led by Myrddraal and Dreadlords, came out of the Blight (the huge and desolate area in the North of the World, where the Dark one is Sealed) and attacked. The Ten countries in existence at the time are:
Aelgar, Aramaelle, Almoren, Aridhol, Coremanda, Eharon, Essenia, Jaramide, Manetheren, and Safer. There is no real culture for them, though there are no Arabic, Native American, African, or Asian Cultures (just European styles, pretty much). However, some of the weapons are similar to Katanas and Naginatas, etc. Another location is Tar Valon, a great city, with an impenetrable wall, and wards all around it so that no crows, ravens, rats, or any such creature can get inside the walls, or a stray arrow, for instance. Inside the city is the White Tower, the headquarters of the Aes Sedai, who frequently travel to other locations.

In this RPG, we'll just be RPing as people in Manetheren during the Trolloc Wars. Some of us can be in Shen an Calhar (The Band of the Red Hand), which was a relatively large band of Legendary heroes sworn to defend Manetheren. In the end, they failed and died in its defense, but still, I think it's an awesome idea, so we could survive the fall (unless you want to have your character die). Anyways, there's no real plot line, so...join up!

Rules:
Max of Two Characters per person
No Powergaming (doing things that are seriously impossible, like killing hundreds of enemies in a battle (which actually is possible for Aes Sedai, though) or something.
No killing each other's characters without permission from them
No playing as the bad guys (at least not as a primary character. For plot development it is okay)
No playing as a Male channeller
Max of four Aes Sedai (if you want to be an Aes Sedai, read this)[/list]
Post your characters HERE!

My Character:

Name: Dhaeran an'Toral
Age: 25
Birth-country: Manetheren
Affiliations: Shen an Calhar
Clothing: Black tunic, brown coat, black pants/trousers, dark brown boots.
Phys. Appearance Tall but not skinny, slightly dark skin, short blond hair, and green eyes.
Weapons: Slightly curved sword, an Ashandarei (like a Naginata), and a longbladed dagger.
Background: Dhaeren was born in Manetheren, the capitol city of the country of the same name, as the son of a noble. He has been trained in fighting his whole life, as the land was caught in the middle of the Trolloc Wars. When he was fifteen, he was awarded his ashandarei and heron-mark sword, the youngest man in the history of Manetheren to be awarded the title of Blademaster (a prerequisite to gaining a heron-mark sword). Since then he has engaged in many adventures against the Trollocs and Myrddaal. When his father died in combat, he joined the Band of the Red Hand, rising in the ranks until he was second-in-command of the force, becoming a hero even more famous than his father.

The road wound towards the mountains, many leagues from city to city, village to village, and along the northern road, the wind swept, blowing a few leaves with it, as though fall didn't have enough time and had to come early. Along it also, however, came the crash of steel on steel, the cries of men and snarls of beasts, and the sickening sound of the ground erupting and lighting coming from the skies. Dhaeren ducked under the Trolloc's stroke, the axe hitting the ground with a heavy thud. The creature fell wtih a cry of rage as he pierced it's armor through its heart. Glancing around him, he could almost have smiled. The trollocs were being driven back, and the Dreadlord had been killed, no doubt by Margaen, Aes Sedai of the White Tower, who stood nearby, channelling furiously, calling lightning out of the sky, ripping the ground up under the enemy, and throwing fireballs furiously. Around her, her three Warders fought furiously in their eye-boggling cloaks that seemed to blend in to whatever was around them. He glanced to his side in time to see a Myddraal wrench its sword out of the falling body of one of Manetheren's Royal Guard. Five others lay at his feet, and the Guards always attacked in groups of six. He bit back an oath and charged the creature, his ashandarei catching the grey light. The Fade would find him slightly harder to beat than normal soldiers - he had not earned his heron-mark sword for being slow in combat. He felt the familiar well of hatred starting to overflow inside him. It had been an Eyeless one that killed his father in a battle not unlike this one. He slashed towards the Lurk, then blocked the parry, flowing from one form to another. It was not unlike a dance, the combat between him and the Myrddraal - a dance where a misstep was fatal. So it always was in a duel between blademasters, though Myrddraal weren't given the honor of being given that title. He made a feint, then another, then slashed forward with his blade. The Fade fell for it, and lost its head in penalty. However, it continued to thrash around until, with a spear he had uprooted from the ground, Dhaeren pinned its body to the soil.

Um...I know how fast things move from page to page in this forum, and I have a feeling not many people really go back pages to look for new RPGs, so...*bump*

I really wouldn't mind people joining *pleading tone*.....

Well, it looks interesting, Aerandir, and normally I'd join, but I don't think I have the time to. Have fun, though.

Thanks a lot for the PM! This sounds awesome. Can I be an Aes Sedai? If so here's a profile:
Name: Viendre Alkaese
Age: 23
Place of origin: Essenia
Number of years being Aes Sedai: 2
Ajah: yellow
Appearance: short, slim, fair skin, waist length light red hair, light greenish/gray eyes
Personality: brave, warm hearted, untrusting, bad tmeper at times
Number of Warders present:1
Warder's name: Alyor Pendar
Brief history: Viendre was a wilder. She discovered she could channel (although she had a block)at the age of 18. She went to train at the Tower at the age of 19. After spending 1 year as a novice, she was raised to Accepted. It took her a little less than two years to break her block, soon after she did she was raised to Aes Sedai. For a time she traveled and then she met Alyor Pendar and bonded him as her Warder. She loves him deeply, although she won't admit it. Hearing the news of the trouble in Manetheren, they traveled there quickly to assist them.

BTW I will also be playing my Warder
Name:Alyor Pendar
Warder to: Viendre Alkaese
Age: 32
Place of origin:Aramaelle
Personality: quiet, brave, stubborn, loyal, protective
Appearance: tall, muscular, broad sholdered, shoulder length dark brown hair, slightly tan skin, dark green eyes
Brief history: He is a Bladmaster. All his life he spent in and out of the Blight fighting Shadowspawn. When he was 30, he saved Viendre from being overwhelmed by a very large band of Trollocs. He immediately fell in love with her. After finding out the she was Aes Sedai, he agreed to being bonded to her. NOw he follows her wherever she goes.

Tell me if this is okay and I'll post IC later. :)

Yeah, it's great, Elarinya, except for the countries, since Saldea and Arafel aren't technically in existance yet. Manetheren, Aramaelle, and Aridhol are the countries that border the blight, for sure, but maybe one or two others do, also. I only know the location of those three with absolute certainty, because Aramaelle eventually becomes Rhamdashar and then Malkier, which is marked on the maps in the books, Manetheren went from around the Two Rivers to the Blight, and then Aridhol is the old name of Shayol Ghul. But yeah...the only ten countries that I know of from the time period are: Aelgar, Aramaelle, Almoren, Aridhol, Coremanda, Eharon, Essenia, Jaramide, Manetheren, and Safer. Any of those countries are fine, and you can make up your own culture for them if you want, since I don't know anything more about them than the name except for Aramaelle, Aridhol, and Manetheren.
Like I said, other than the countries, they're great bios.

Okay then, Viendre will be from Essenia and Alyor will be from Aramaelle. I really hope more people join.

Viendre walked weakly from man to man in the large inn that had been made into an infirmary. She had been Healing nearly the whole time she had been in Manetheren. When she was not Healing, she had fought along side her Warder, Alyor, killing Trollocs with blasts of fire or lighting with the One Power. She was soon asked to come and Heal the injured. That was where her main skill was. She was a Yellow, and although all Yellows are skilled Healers, she was renowned for her skill among all of them. But whatever her skill, the injured here were many, as in most large battles, and her strength was waning.
____________________________________________
Alyor fought the Trollocs furiously along side the men of Manetheren. To his furious objection, Viendre had forced him to leave her and fight. It was true that his skills in battle were needed here, but he was sworn to protect her, and he would do anything to keep her safe, anything. But Warders had to obey their Aes Sedai. He vented his anger on a large Trolloc with a wolf muzzle in front of him. The creature's head went flying as the heron-mark blade he carried rent it from it's neck. He moved on to a Myrddraal that was coming at him, black blade raised. Heron-mark blade met black steel as he and the Myrddraal began to fight. Alyor ducked as it made a move to remove his head and thrust his sword upward towards it's stomach. It blocked the attack. They continued much like that for the Light knew how long, but i nthe end Alyor thrust his blade into the Fade's heart. It fell and began thrashing around. He moved on. The thing would give up soon enough. Vaguely, he felt Viendre's weakness tugging at him. The fool woman thought she could do everything! He bit back an oath. Then he realized that the Shadowspawn were falling back, he resolved that he would get to Viendre as soon as he could, but first he would help finish these off.

OOC: I hope this is okay. I wonder if people know that they do not read the books to join this.

Nice post, Elarinya.

Yeah, anyone who sees this post, you don't have to have read the books to join this RPG.

Dhaeren noticed a Warder fighting nearby. Alyor, he thought the name was. The man had a look of extreme anger on his face. Was that a touch of annoyance on it, too? It could very well be, considering that his Aes Sedai had sent him to the battle while remaining to Heal the injured. Light! Warders and Aes Sedai gave him chills. He would hate to have an Aes Sedai inside his head. No, he did not think he could stand that.

Thank you :-D
When will the battle that is going on right now be over so our characters can interact more, and do you have anything planned to happen after it? Just wondering.

Viendre sighed and slumped into a chair. A man who was just brought in had said that the Trollocs seemed to be falling back. Hopefully it was not just idle rumor. If the Trollocs were falling back that meant that men would stop pouring in here pretty soon. She shook her head angrily. She could sense that Alyor was angry and annoyed. No doubt because of her orders to leave her and help in the battle. The bloody man was going to get himself killed if he did not concentrate. Fool men!

Alyor finished off a Trolloc, human face distorted by a beak, and paused a minute to take a breath. There was no doubt about it the Trollocs were retreating, but who could say for how long. He glanced over to his side and noticed a man looking at him. He was not sure of his name, but he knew that he was a member of Shen an Calhar. Alyor had seen him fighting a Myrddraal earlier, with great skill. He was pretty certain that the man was carrying a heron-mark blade. He would have to get to know him more when the battle was certainly over. And after he talked with Viendre.

Any time, Elarinya. No, I don't really have anything planned to happen after it, so feel free to do whatever you want.

The last of the Trollocs turned and fled, leaving a battlefield strewn with mangled corpses, and many living, angry humans. Many of the Trollocs didn't get far, falling with at least one arrow in their backs.
Nobody pursued them, however, since only the Cavalry could catch up, and it would be dangerous for any man if they actually did catch up and the Trollocs put up a fight. Dhaeren wiped the blood off his ashandarei - his sword was already clean, and strode over to Alyor. "I greet you under the Light, Alyor," he said, giving a small bow. "I am Dhaeren, second-in-command of the Band of the Red. Since I gather that you would like to be back with your Aes Sedai, perhaps you will come with me among the escort for the first cartloads of wounded?"

Alyor bowed to Dhaeren. "I greet you in the light, Dhaeren," he said, "It is good to meet you." He nodded gratefullly at Dhaeren's suggestion to escort the wounded. He leapt at the chance to return to Viendre so quickly after the battle.
Soon they came to a large inn. Well, it used to be an inn now it was a kind of hospital.

Viendre was on her feet again Healing the last of the battle's wounded. She glanced at the door and saw Alyor walking in with man she had not met. She ran to him. Before he could say anything, she took his head in both of her hands and let Saidar fill her. She checked his health. She sighed with relief and withdrew her hands while letting go of the Source. He was as healthy as ever. "You need to rest," he said to her, "You are to weak." Viendre shook her head in annoyance and tried to appear as regal as possible. "I am fine," she replied, "I cannot rest while people need Healing." She tried to ignore the concerned look in his eyes and turned to the man. "Hello," she said with a smile, "I am Viendre Alkaese of the Yellow Ajah. I do not believe we have met."

"Greetings, Viendre Sedai. Indeed we have not met. I am Dhaeren an'Toral of Manetheren, though I think you might have heard of me.
I have not had a chance to thank you, Aes Sedai, for coming to this area as Healers and defenders for the Forces of the Light. We would have many more losses if it weren't for the presence of such skilled healers." He bowed low, not having fully gotten over his sense of unease around Aes Sedai, though it was certainly less than it had been the first time he met one.

(sorry for the lack of post. I've been busy)
Viendre nodded."I am pleased to meet you Dhaeren. Indeed I have heard of you. You are a member of Shen An Calhar, are you not?" When he thanked her for Healing the wounded, she replied, "It is my duty to Heal. I only regret that I could not help everyone." It was hard to keep the pained look off her face, and in the end she was not sure that she had succeeded. It was true that she had Healed many, but many mor had not survived. Today 6 men had died from the shock of Healing. Countless more had died on the battle field or on the way here. She knew she should be used to all the death by now, but she wasn't. She looked around and realized that everyone had been seen to. She glanced longingly at a chair across the room. She wanted to sit, but did not want to appear weak. Before she could make an excuse to sit down, Alyor grabbed her arm and pulled her over to the chair. "Sit," he told her a little to firmly. She gave shot him an angry glare before sitting. Sometimes he forgot that she was the Aes Sedai and he her Warder.
_________________________________________
After Settling Viendre in the chair, Alyor turned to Dhaeren. He appeared uneasy. Well, that was to be expected people were seldom comfortable around Aes Sedai. He offered another chair to him and stood beside Viendre. "When do you expect another attack?" he asked.

Dhaeren thought about the question for a little while.
"After their defeat today, I do not think that the Trollocs will strike here again. They will probably go north or south, in which case we will catch up to and meet them. The king will be up soon with reinforcements, and then we can actually drive them off or destroy them instead of halting their attack."
He shifted his position, leaning on his ashandarei. Chatting with an Aes Sedai was not something he did every day.
