Post subject: | POTC~ The Calm Before the Storm *need BP crew |
Okay, so my extreme boredom has spawned another RPG idea. Not sure how well this'll go over with others, but basically, it's the story before Barbossa led the mutiny against Jack (and immediately after, should we get far enough). Beyond that, it's pretty much open to the interpretation of the individuals since we don't really know what happened. Essentially, the reason I made this was to present a challenge to some of us RP-ers by forcing us to branch out ![]() ![]() ~Rules~ 1. No godmoding 2. No profanity or inappropriate content 3. NO Jack-OC romances (not that I think it'd be a big issue here, but you never know) 4. I hate to do this, but no female characters on this one, period. Those of us who normally do females are gonna have to branch out, considering that there weren't any females on the crew. 5. Due to bad experiences with another RP, I feel obliged to put this: do not join this RP if you don't intend to carry it out. (No, I'm not talking about going on vacation for a week and not being able to post; I mean the people who join an RP for a week or two, decide it's boring, and then drop out, leaving everyone else to pick up the pieces) Other than that, I think we're pretty good. I'll post all the roles below and edit as necessary. Main Characters: Jack Sparrow- Pippin Bootstrap Bill Turner- pirateoftherings Mr. (not Captain) Barbossa- Luinnar Black Pearl Crew: Pintel/Ragetti- Rhavaniel (seen as one character, not two, seeing as they're almost inseperable) Bo'sun- *open* Christopher Blake (crewman)- Curunir Anyone else- *open* (characters to be added as claimed) Note: Not all of the positions on the crew have to be filled before starting. I'd just like to secure a few of the mains to make sure we have enough people. ![]() |

((Umm...well, the only problem is that this crew is the same crew as Barbossa has in POTC, and they're all male. Beyond the crew, there aren't really any openings. Perhaps you could try something new?)) ((For an opening post, I'm actually going to use one of Barbossa's memories I wrote for my fanfic. I don't normally start by posting for all characters, but I think this one will do for setting the tone)) Hector Barbossa looked questioningly at the house before him. This was the address given to him by Captain Sparrow, but he hadn’t really expected to be meeting in a private residence. He had just turned to leave when the door opened and a man stuck his head out. “Hector!” Bootstrap said in surprise. “We’d begun to think you wouldn’t be joinin’ us! Come inside quickly; we have a lot to discuss.” Appraising the house narrowly, Barbossa followed him inside. “Welcome to my humble abode, Mr. Barbossa,” Bootstrap said, bowing gracefully. “It’s not much, but it’s home. Jack’s waiting in the kitchen.” As they made their way into the cluttered room, Barbossa received the impression that the kitchen was seldom used for actual cooking. “Jack, you remember Hector Barbossa, right?” “Aye,” Jack replied with a short nod. “Glad ye could make it.” “My apologies for the delay, Cap’n,” Barbossa said, sitting down at the wobbly table. “As I’m sure ye remember, I don’t frequent this town…Haven’t quite got my bearings yet.” Opening up one of the cabinets, Bootstrap pulled out three mugs and a small keg of ale. “Can I get either of ye a drink?” he offered. Both men readily accepted, and he poured out three glasses. Setting two of them down on the table, Bootstrap pulled out a chair to sit in, only to find it occupied by a small wooden replica of a ship. “Raven!” he called out in exasperation. A young girl around the age of ten hurried into the room. Her dark brown hair was held back in a single braid, and she wore a tattered shirt and pants. “Yes, Father?” “Love, I need you to get your things out of here like I asked,” he said. Obligingly, the girl went over and picked up the small ship. “Who’re you?” she asked, her dark eyes looking Barbossa up and down. “That’s no way to address a guest, love,” Bootstrap scolded gently. Grinning easily, Barbossa leaned back in his chair. “I don’t mind, Bill, honest. I rather admire an individual who gets straight to the point,” he insisted. Turning to the young girl, he said, “Name’s Hector Barbossa. I’m going to be the first mate on this journey. I’m not sure I caught your name, Miss…?” The girl folded her arms across her chest. “Raven Turner,” she said shortly. Turning to her father, she gave him a questioning look. “So you’re trusting him?” “Raven, where are your manners today?” Bootstrap muttered. “Yes, we’re trusting him. He comes highly recommended by several individuals…Why don’t you go visit Joe over at the tavern, love? We have some business to attend to.” Raven nodded obligingly and headed out of the room. Stopping short, she gave Barbossa a strange look. “A pleasure to have met you, Mr. Barbossa,” she said quietly before striding out the front door. Shaking his head, Bootstrap joined them at the table. “My apologies, Hector,” he said. “Raven’s normally very polite to new acquaintances…I don’t know what got into her.” “Children will be children,’ Barbossa said dismissively. At least no one listens to them, he added in his mind. “Well,” Jack said suddenly, interrupting his thoughts. “Let’s get on to business, shall we?” Barbossa nodded. “Yes, let’s. Firstly, I’d like to know the nature of this venture ‘fore I sign on. Also, perhaps ye can enumerate upon risks, time required, remuneration, and so forth.” Jack frowned in confusion. “Excuse me?” “Am I going to come out of this alive, and what’s in it for me?” Barbossa rephrased, trying to conceal his irritation. “Ah, well, the state in which you leave this journey would depend on you skill, now wouldn’t it?” Jack asked mildly. “As for pay, everything’s in equal share. Do we have an accord?” Barbossa grinned and shook the young captain’s hand. “Agreed.” “Excellent. Then everything’s in order. We set sail in a week,” Jack said. Raising his mug, he added, “Here’s to a successful journey. May we all profit largely from it.” Touching his mug to the other two men’s and taking a drink, Barbossa laughed quietly to himself. Some of us more than others… ((note: Raven won't be mentioned again except in passing. She was just required since she would be there normally...Ideally Pip could start us off from here...maybe on the docks just before setting sail? (just a thought))) |

May be a character that is female, who is sort of a spirit on the ship, cursed as to the fact her spirit wanders (she choose to stay with Sparrow.) while her body, alive yet in a comotos state is some where she doesn't know. |

((sry, but no. the reason i said this RPG is a challenge is because it'll be challenging. though we can't know exactly what happened, i'd like to stay as accurate as possible, which includes keeping the crew as it is, and jack free of female-spirit-companions. i'm sry, but those are my rules and i'm sticking by them. you're welcome to try your hand at any of the crew memebers, though)) |

(Hey, I'm a here. Thanks for saving me the spot, oh and I now feel like an idiot because this next post isn't going to be half as long, or half as good as that last one you posted Pirateoftherings!) There he stood out on the docks, Jack Sparrow, well now that is, Captain Jack Sparrow. The wind swept past him and sent his trinkets, and sash to fly along with the direction of the wind. A short smirk slid across his face knowing that is was the perfect day to set sail. He was in full garb and he stood as proudly as he could knowing that he had just earned the title he had always wanted. Now, he awaited his crew to meet him there as he still held that silly smirk on his face. |

((Yay Pip! Rhav, I'm sry, but no. I realize I'm being a tad unconventional with the whole 'no females' rule, but for this RP it's kinda necessary. You're an excellent RP-er, Rhav. I don't think trying a new role should be too hard ![]() Bootstrap walked noiselessly down the docks. "Excited, cap'n?" he asked, coming up suddenly behind Jack. |

Jack almost jumped out of his boots as a sudden voice was heard from behind him. He whipped his head around then sighed, "Bloody Boostrap!" He then smirked at the man at his side and said in a smart tone, "Well, who wouldn't be?" |

((Okay, bloody computer hates me, and I'm without internet...again. I'm currently at school frantically typing before the bell rings. I'm not sure when we'l get it fixed (sooner better than later), but hopefully it won't be too long. Sorry! ![]() |

((Okay, one week and $400 later...Internet's back! And if it's not back to stay this time...let's just say it won't be pretty ![]() Bootstrap sighed wearily. "Raven's not too excited," he muttered. "She kept begging me not to go...Said she didn't like Mr. Barbossa for some reason." He shook his head. "I don't know...Speakin' of Barbossa, where is 'e? We're settin' sail shortly, aye?" ((Reminder: Raven=Blackbird)) |
