He looked around, they were out in the open.
"I can disguise myself easily. It's no hard task getting past the Maxen. They ignore anyone not wearing armour. Might i have your name?"

Dove bit back a scream as the whip lashed down on her back again. Stupid war, stupid slavery, stupid everything! she thought bitterly. Each of the three times she'd tried to excape, she'd been caught and beaten. She was starting to lose hope now. Mother had died years ago without ever telling her who her father was, other than that he was not a peasant. Nobility, perhaps? she wondered, before the whip broke her train of thought. Sudden rage built in her. She was tired of this. She hated this slave's life, and all that went with it. She snapped the ties on her hidden wrist sheaths and yanked out her daggers, quickly slaying the overseer. Shocked by what she had done, she froze for a moment, then ran, faster than she ever had before. She hid herself in the forest, and slowly made her way toward civilization.

She stopped her mare, and looked around, before dismounting. She led her mare to a tree with low branches and tied the reins in an easy knot, that she could unknot, and the horse could not, and it was loose enough for Shadow to graze.

She took the saddle off the mare and placed it on another low branch, and took out her packed bedroll, before placing it on the ground and unrolling it. She sighed as she looked toward the sky, which was kind of hard, because of the cover of the forest. She lay on the bedroll, adjusting her cloak so it was like a blanket and closed her eyes, trying to sleep for the night.

It was dark out before Ariana decided to make her move. All of the gaurds were either drunk or asleep and the only thing to stop here was the gate and the chains around her ankles. She took out three thin strips of metal she had been crafting for months and picked the lock of her chains. She looked over at those sleeping in their chains, those who were content to live as a slave. They disgusted her.
She stashed the metal in the thin fabric at her waist next to the kitchen knife. She slung her bundle over her shoulder and slipped out the door. There were a few fires still burning but none brightly enough to see her. She crept in the shadows, just in case a gaurd was aware of his surroundings. She scaled the wooden wall quickly and valuted over landing on her feet. She immediately set off running. She only stopped when she reached a tree far away and only to change into clothes she had stolen from the main house. She had taken breeches to be able to run in and be less recognizable, since she had also put her hair up. After she changed, she ran again planning to be as far from that place as possible by morning.

Mirna looked up into darkness. She could not sleep. The pain she felt in her back was rushing through her body. Screams would not come out, for her voice was a hoarse crack when she spoke. The life she now lived was far worse than she had imagined. If she had known she would have ran, ran far away when her brother had told her. Lorid... Mirna thought of him often. Perhaps too often? She dreamed of the moment when she would kill every man who had aided in her brother's death.
Late at night she cried because she didn't know how she would escape. But she knew she had to. Some how, some way.

Ardia looked over and saw sober Bracus men patrolling the area. Plant was out in the open, and he had revealed himself, they would notice him. So, she grabbed Plant by his neck and pushed him down in the alley. She waited until they passed before she looked at him.
"I have helped you this time, Duke. But next time you may not be so lucky. So I suggest, you get out of here before things get worse for you." She said, leaving him.

Plant was slightly shaken by the events. He shook his head and threw his hood over his head. Then he started thinking. She could have killed him or handed him over. She didn't though. Ardia seemed to be a possible ally, although he decided not to press on her, it may push her futher away which he didn't want. Plant would have to pick his moment.
He walked out onto the open street on left the small village and pressed onto the next settlement.

Mirna looked up and to her dismay saw two soldiers. They were so tall and they looked mean. She knew they were. Continuing her work without any complaining, and she thought she wasn't doing anything wrong, but obviously the soldiers did. They pushed her down and she fell in the dirt. She coughed and tried to get up, but she was too weak.

Ardia noticed this as she was walking back to her army's barracks. The two soldiers were about to hit the girl again, before Ardia grabbed their hands.
"Hands off." Ardia said, sternly.
"She's just a slave." One of her soldiers said.
"And you're just an incompetent soldier. So leave. Now!" Ardia said. Once they left, Ardia looked down at the girl.
"Get up." She said. The girl was going to have to learn to stand up for herself, so Ardia thought it better not to help her up.

Mirna tried hard to stand up, fell the first time and tried again. This time she got up, but she staggered. "Tha...Thank you," she said softly.

As Ariana apprpached a town she slowed down her running. She had been running all night and had stopped for only a little bit to rest and eat something. Befoe she arrived in the town she changed into the skirt hoping people would believe she was more than a slave girl, maybe a sevant or someone, just not a slave again. Her spirits had risen since she had left because she had seen no gaurds come after her.

Dove finally reached town, and shrank back into the forest. The likes of her wouldn't last long. She needed weapons; she needed a disguise; she needed someone to travel with. The weapons part wouldn't take too long. She had her daggers and knives, and she could pickpocket enough money to buy a glaive or a bow, perhaps. But the disguise...that might be difficult. She shrugged and walked into town as though she had a purpose there. Almost immediately, the soldiers had her arms twisted behind her back. "Who are you, wench?" one spat. "Not Bracus, are you, hmm...you're Sorinor blood, aren't you." It was not a question; it was an accusation. Dove drove her elbow into his kidney and he doubled over in pain. She unsheathed her daggers once more and whacked the back of his head with the hilts. He fell as she turned to face the other soldiers. Well, there's only three of them... she thought. I can take three- I think. She tensed as they lunged. I hope.
