Take a good look to this picture that now rests before your eyes. What do you see? Do you see a brave woman who seems strong willed and good hearted? Or, do you see the loneliness that rests within her features as she watches for danger within the woods? Or perhaps you see the adventures mind of a child coming into play? If you look hard enough, you can see all of these. Her name is Leona Montoya, and being at 22 years of age may give her freedom of not being told what to do, but who said it didn't give her more responsibilities? Let the journey begin..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The snow covered the ground, winter was marked everywhere in Jerenica. The trees were bare, almost deathly looking. Tonight seemed quiet in the woods..Almost too quiet. Ah, but what is this. Soft thunder of hooves echoed softly throughout the winds, and shouting soon followed. Three men, all urging their steeds to go faster than they already were. One had a bloody arm, the other two having wounded sides on either side. What exactly were they runnin- oh, that's what they were running from. Coming fast as ever behind the three upon a black and white painted pegasus, was a woman who's sword was covered in blood. Her face was hidden rather well beneath the hood of the cloak she bore, along with her features. The three men looked back and then looked to eachother before they suddenly split up. The woman gave a mere grin, and she looked over to her right. Phoenix of Flames. A rather rare Bird of Lore to see in winter. A rare site to see at all. The Bird of Lore turned and follwed after two of the men, leaving the woman to go after the other.. It wasn't long before the yelling of pain from men rested to the winds, and then silence..
She stood there, taking out the spear from the assassin's chest. She shoved the tip to the snow, then pulled in out and made sure the blood was cleanly wipped from the spear. She looked over to the left, watching as the Phoenix carried the other two men, both dead, and rested near the man she had killed. "Thank you, Ziran.." She said softly to the Phoenix. The Phoenix perched himself within the low branch of a tree, only nodding to the woman's words of praise. He looked over to the pegasus, not seeming at all winded from the fast running that they he had done for the past hour or so. The steed never enjoyed this part, but if it was going to get the job done, then he didn't complain about it. He stood still, wings drooped so the woman and Phoenix could tie down the three men to his back. Once that was doen and over with, he waited for instructions. "Go and take them to the King, and tell him I wish not of any repayment." Leona said softly, her gaze keeping to the Pegasus. The steed snorted and nodded his head, turning and running off before taking flight. Both woman and Phoenix watched from afar. "Do you think the King would be glad that he finally has the men, that he's been after for a year, dead?" She asked Ziran. The Bird of Lore looked over to her. "Do you think it wise to mendle with a King's job, even if he asks you to help? Sooner or later the people of his village will figure out that if he can't capture three men, then how is he going to save them from a battle that may happen to fall upon the village?" "You have a point there, my friend. But like I've said, I will let no enemy get in the way and harm the people." She whispered. "Ah, but there is one enemy that you fear, but yet you know it will help the people."The Phoenix shifted a bit. "Do not talk about Love. It is something I know I will not let befall upon my own self." Her voice dripped with slight poinson, not meaning to though. Love, a word she fears so greatly for she knows if she loves, she will not be the same. Her mind would become clouded, her actions hesitant. But then again, her lonliness would be mended, and she would have a companion to work alongside with. So why not give it a shot then? No..No not now. She couldn't. But then again she wanted it to happen. It was something she was going to argue with herself for a rather long while. "Come, let us head back and await for Pegrion to return." Leona whispered, turning and walking off to head back to the camp that they had made. The Phoenix looked at her, but his attention shifted about the woods. He swore he heard someone, but then again the winds could play easy tricks to the mind. He gave a soft call and then flew off after Leona.
2 Days Later- Errands
Once more did Leona have 'errands' to get done and over with. But where exactly was she anyway? She had seemed to have vanished this morning when Pegiron and Ziran were still asleep. Pegiron snorter as he landed upon the snow-covered ground, the Phoenix hovering beside him. "Where is she, Ziran? Can you sence her anywhere?" The pegasus snorted. "No, I'm affraid I can't." The Bird of Lore said quietly.
Little did they know, about two miles away Leona was fighting off about 12 men. Hmm..12 to 1, not very fair, aye? Ah, but she could handle herself...Right?
