I've jumped ahead to the following year and summer.

In that time:

Almara and Rie-Zunic have settled somewhere quiet to raise their family.

King Valacar has died and the crown has passed to his heir, Eldacar.

Amarwen has continued her work, though correspondence with her various contacts becomes increasingly difficult after Valacar's death.

The official mourning period has been observed and now Eldacar is determined to instil hope and confidence amongst his peoples. The summer calendar of festivities is bigger and brighter than ever.

The Guild has boycotted the events.

Sorry, trying to keep up with life is just not working at the moment. lol

Any ideas on where we would be with Almara and her due date? They have set their minds to return to the fight. (Mostly for Rie-Zunic's sake) but I wasn't sure when her baby would be born, whether to post with that event first, then their return, or how to schedule it all.

We're over a year since Almara knew she was pregnant now, Jax.

Safe to say that she and Rie are now parents proper with a young child approaching if not past 12 months.

Not too sure when, exactly, conception was for your characters or whether bub came early...so that's kinda your call.

EDIT: and boom....just like that, betrothal is finito. Figured that the attack would cause some serious ructions.

One of which would be the King having to inform Amarwen's parents of what happened. Foreseeing they would likely recall their daughter out of concern for her safety, a serious loss of political face as it is a no confidence vote in effect, Eldacar has a pre-emptive move .

It is one that he hopes will preserve an ally and spare the Crown from the fall out should the violence continue and Amarwen is caught up in it again.

Innocent blood on his hands, particularly an ally's, is something he is keen to avoid. The harm that would do to the realm's confidence in him would be too damaging.
