Ok, since my other idea wasn't the brightest....I think I'll try this one. This is sort of based on the Russian novel, Night Watch In Earth, there are people that have an allegience to either Day or Night. Day people tend to be more righteous, often adhere to the morals, and try to help the weak and the suffering. Night people, on the other hand, tend to be more selfish. They are only interested in what they can have. Due to their loyalties, Day or Night people received powers or become creatures of their masters. However both sides can grant their servants same powers. For example, Day and Night people can fly but Day people have white feathers while Night people have bat wings . Easy enough....these are the powers and creatures of Day and Night

Big Cats(ex. lions, tigers, etc.)

Powers
Courage Boost
Shapeshifting (only Day creatures though)
Holy Power (more proficent in killing Night creatures and servants)
Healing
Flight (with white feathers)

Werewolves
Half-Demons
Phantoms

Powers
Deceit
Fear Cause
Evil
Dark Power (more proficent in killing Day creatures and servants)
Parastitic Healing (heals by killing someone)

Obvious reasons.....they are trying to get more people on their side than the other people. And control of the world we know.
