I agree. I don't think that Council of Elrond is boring but it's better in the movies. It's a shame Peter didn't include Bilbo in the scene though. I found him very funny (as usual) at the Council of Elrond. Ah well, I guess it would have made things even more complicated. It already took them 5 days to film that scene.

i think the council of Elrond, because when yuo read it for the first time, but when you read it for the second time, you know what's it about, and maybe that can be annoying to people.  _________________ I'm a Lotr-Fan, and i love Hip-Hop and Rap. They don't mix, i know.

Gotta agree, I'm afraid. I didn'tlike much of the foresty bits, because they seemed to drag, slightly. Don't get me wrong, I love the books, but maybe that chapter deters me a bit. _________________

Uhm let's see. I skiped the whole explanation thing in the beginning. It tells about what hobbits are and a lot of history from families. I read that one later once, but I found it difficult to understand, because I didn't know anything when I started it.
I like the council of Elrond and Tom Bombadil is sooo cool. I like the old willow who captures the hobbits and I love Tom's songs.

I don't have any chapters I most hated! I love them all! Yes, I have to admit the tom bombadil's ones are a little bit' boring but I liked them in my fashion. I'm so in love in the books, I don't know how I could hate a chapter ! (the huge fan of LoTR books can hate some chapters everybody have their likes).

Tsk........tsk........jk! I skipped the Concerning Hobbits bit at the begining because I found it very boring, but after reading the whole book I decided I should go back and read it. Its very informative so for me it was a chore to get through!

I don't hate anything! But the longest chapters may become a lil bit boring as told before... I can't read that much at the time

Well, I would have to say that the Tom Bombadil chapter did get a little long for me as well. I mean, I don't mean I totally hate it, cause I love Tom's character too! It was just...well, I dunno. Long.  _________________

Like MeRry, I think the "council of Elrond" part is a bit too detailed.. I read onliy parts of that chapter.. I mean, in the end we all know what they're talkiing about and how they end up..

i love tolkien's other books, too. i have no non-favorite chapter
