I thought I had read somewhere about how Arwen's mother died, but I can't seem to remember. Can someone help me? :) Oh, and what was her name? I can't seem to remember that either.

Celebrian was attacked by Orcs and never fully recovered. She left Middle Earth and sailed to Valinor.

Celebrian did recover, but after her attack, she found Middle-earth to be somewhat.......lacking in her eys,so she left for Valinor.

I've got a quote from p. 394 (in the appendices) of RotK:

"In 2509 Celebrian wife of Elrond was journeying to Lorien when she ws waylaid in the Redhorn Pass, and her escort being scattered by the sudden assault of the Orcs, she was seized and carried offf. She was pursued and rescued by Elladan and Elrohir, but no before she had suffered torment, and recieved a poisoned wound. She was brought back to Imladris, and though healed in body by Elrond, lost all delight in Middle -earth, and the next year went to the Havens and passed over Sea"

I hope that answers your question! :)

((Sorry for any typos; I was typing quickly while trying to hold the book open))

My apologies, I'm sometimes not very good at putting my thoughts into words.
Beriadanwen put it way better than I did.

^Oh,no Raivynn it wasn't you. It's just Elwing said something a little different tha your statement and I wasn't sure which was right.

Thanks Beri for the info! I understand it completely now. Raivynn and Elwing were both right, and now my question has been answered. Thanks! :)

I think the story of Celebrian was very sad.. It must be hard to leave your husband and children after something so horrible...

It must have been difficult for Celebrian, but the pain she faced was too great.I think she was both relieved and saddened when she left.

By the way, just wondering:Who makes those "I survived the AU Forum Crash 2005 banner writings?Or do you make them themselves, because I really want one :)
