Okay I have heard many, many, people here say that they thought Tom Bomabadil was either boring, or annoying, and if you didn't say that then I guess you like him. Anyone care to share their opinion of Tom Bombadil?Personally, I liked him and all his funny little songs too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D

Tom Bombadil is such an unique character in the books. Very unique, he is always being happy and singing :-D I like Tom.

I don't like him much. I just finished reading the part with him and I don't dislike him as much as I did before but I dunno he just seems really weird to me. His pony, Fatty Lumpkin is awesome though :)

i can't quite put my finger on why Tom was annoying and boring to me. i think it had something to do with it seemed like he was perfect. just, how he held the ring and actually giggled at it, and put it on and nothing happened...he sings and darkness flees (hope i spelled that right lol).

I liked Tom Bombadil... I'm not sure why, but he was just such an interesting character to me. He added an interesting aspect to the beginning of Fellowship. Sure, he's a bit too perfect, but he didn't take over the novel or anything. He helps the hobbits along, but that's all. He doesn't see them safe all the way, he doesn't try and take command. I like how he gets rid of darkness, singing and all that, and how he just laughs at the ring. He's just such a fun character.

I don't find Tom Bombadil annoying. I like him for the enigmatic value that he adds to Lord of the Rings. Even the first time I read the Fellowship when I had little interest in the really detailed bits of the story I found him charming and a happy character.

Hmm...I have mixed feelings over this. There's a part of me that likes him, and his songs...but another part of me doesn't really care for him. I think part of it has to do with Goldberry, since she's supposed to be so beautiful, and it's almost like he's just a little old man marrying her...lol, sounds like Gimli and Galadriel, even they don't get married. Anyway, another part is that I saw the movie first, so I wasn't really properly introduced to Tom.
