I saw the trailer they had on A&F, but that's all about it. Itarile is right about Nov 23, as far as I know. But it will take years until I can see it in Germany, too :-( I'll probably have to wait till Feb 2007. :disgust:

That's a bummer Forever. I'm sorry you have to wait that long. Maybe it won't be as long a wait as you think.

I hope so, as well. I know it can be grueling to wait for something you really want to happen (don't ask me about RotK :P ).
Thanks for those links, btw, Itarilde. And to both of you for telling me the date it comes out (here, at least). I've got to go now, but...we should figure out something else Frodo-related to talk about...I'm just not sure what, lol. (Btw, the Frodo club is getting kind of lonely again, if any one wants to post there. No pressure, though. ;) )

You're very welcome for the links.
And you're right about the posts getting sort of slow here. Where did TT go? and Forever! It's lonely here without them don't you think?

You're right, it is. *shakes fist at invisible enemy* Curse you, Red Baron! (Sorry--I'm told it's what Snoopy says when something goes wrong--when he's in "fighter pilot" mode, i mean. :P ) Actually, I suppose school would be the one to blame...Anyway, what I meant in my previous post was that it was getting kind of lonely in the Frodo Club over in the clubs section, though like I said you're right about it getting lonely here too. (You and I could keep both clubs going while they're gone, I suppose--if you want. ;) ) *can't think what else to say*

To come to a new topic to talk about, I thought of something new: Talking about our favourite Frodo scenes in the movie, but more deeply than we already did before. I thought it could work like this: One person (Eariel, I suppose, because she's the owner of this club) picks a certain Frodo scene and the others say everything they think about it. We could also include screencaps etc.

What do you think about that?

No time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love your idea Forever, and I love what you said about how Lij looks good when he's kissing. :P Very true.
November 23rd?! That's the day before my birthday! So exciting! I assume it's not coming out til 2007, but it's still kind of exciting.
Sorry I haven't been posting. I've been crazily busy! And I have to go now too (see the Frodo club), but hopefully I'll be able to get back on later, and it's very nice to know I was missed. :D
Talk to you all later!
~T.T

EDIT: EEP!!! I've been nominated! For a member award! That's so exciting! Even if I'm not going to win, it's so cool just to be nominated. So tell me, did one of you gusy nominate me? Or am I going to have to hunt down someone else?

Yay, you've both been on! :) (Psst, Itarilde--we should try posting that we miss them again, and see if it works as promptly to bring them back. ;) Lol, just kidding--I know you've been busy, it's just a nice surprise how right after she and i talked about how we missed you, TT and Forever, you were able to come on again. It's like magic. :P )
I'm afraid i wasn't the one to nominate you, TT (I haven't nominated anyone this time 'round--haven't been paying the awards much attention. ) Maybe I'll have to go check out that part of the forum. ;) I'm glad you got nominated, though. :) (And of course you both were missed, though i know it's nice to hear--well, read--someone say it--er, type it. :P )
As far as I know, Bobby's coming out this year. I'm not sure why it would be postponed more than a year...but you're right, it is nice to know a date.
Good topic idea, Forever. Me, pic a scene? Aw, I'm honored. :P Hmm...this time how about we talk about the whole Mount Doom sequence, especially on the side of the mountain before they met Gollum, and especially especially where Frodo's lying in Sam's arms. ;) lol ('Cause it's my favorite scene, like, ever... :P ) I'll let someone else start the actual discussion (or i can do it later if no one else feels like it ;) ), now that i've picked the topic. :P
Also, let me show you this great quiz i took...(More Lij- than Frodo-related, but hey, it's a club of both. ;) )
First, though, I should post a link to the site where it was. This site is all about Elijah as a child, and the quiz is to see which of his younger characters you're most like. I was most like Nat in Forever Young. :) (It made me want to see that movie!)
The site...

The quiz... :)

Too much cuteness! I can't handle it! :P
Seriously though, that's really cool. A whole site devoted to the kid Lij. He was SO adorable.
Hey! I got Nat too! Awesome! We're more alike than we know! I think my aunt and uncle may have that movie collecting dust up at their cabin. I may have to steal it and watch it. i don't know why I never did before. Thanks for posting Eariel.
Definitely a great idea. I will certainly post something in depth about it. But not right now because I'm befuddled because of lack of sleep. Major testing at school this week, auditions for a musical, craziness. I just want to go, put on my fuzzy pajamas, pull up the covers, and sleep. But tomorrow, I post!
:D Thanks again for missing me guys.

YAY! I voted for the Member Awards!
Tinuviel, I just wanted to thank you again for nominating me. I voted for you in the Hobbit Award, but not just because you're my friend, also becuase I think you totally deserve it. *huggles*

Eariel, thank you for the links. I'll check them out later, I'm afraid my dad wants the computer now. :disgust: Sometimes I hate sharing the laptop. (In fact, it's his laptop, but I use it more often than he does. ;-) )

Very well, the Mount Doom sequence. I kinda guessed that you would pick this one. :P
For this time, I have only a picture, but I will write down my feelings about that scene soon. I promise.

OMG I love it so much!!!!

Ah I'm here! I feel like I've missed a whole lot!
(Eariel, I think that's the perfect way to bring them back. Just post how much we miss them, it worked like a charm)

Of course we missed you TT!
Oh and Eariel, the link to the quiz didn't work for me! :( I really wanted to take the quiz too! Oh it's probably my stupid computer :throw:

Hm...the Mount Doom's scene. That's the most powerful scene in the movie if you ask me. It was so elequant and strong. At that moment, both Sam and Frodo's relationship and every thing they believed in were put on the line. I think in that scene they understood their destiny's and how their fate would impact the enire world. Frodo had such a love for the Shire and it was so empowering to see him fighting to the death to make sure that land that he loved stayed just the way it was. Sam's speach I believe brought him back that hope and pride for the Shire that he'd thought he'd lost. He did it all for Sam and Pippin and Merry and all his other friends because he just knew he had too. I guess that sums it up.
Here's the screencap.

Yay, they've posted again! (I know, Itarilde--it's "charm-"ing. ;) :P ) I'm sorry the quiz link didn't work. Have you tried the link to the actual site? Because the link to the quiz is on the main page (scroll down--it's one of the updates, i think) and then you go to another page that has a link that says "launch the quiz," and that brings you to the quiz. Hopefully that works (and it's not too confusing). If all else fails, i suppose you could go to the A&F site and try the link to the other site there...(that site is one of A&F's affiliates).
You're welcome, Forever and TT, for posting that. I'm glad you got Nat too, TT! You should definitely "steal" the movie. ;) I'm jealous. :P I hope you get time soon, Forever. I know how it can be with sharing the computer. (Four sisters--no brothers--my mom, and I all know about that, to be exact. My dad has his own laptop--well, several actually--from his work, thank goodness.)
I voted for (some of) the member awards, too. I voted for both of you, TT and Forever. (I'll have to do some nominating next time around). I also tried to make it not just because you're my friends, but it being the case did make me glad to vote for you. ;)

Ah...the Mount Doom scene...How did you ever guess i'd pick that one, Forever? :P As for screencaps... *points to siggy* ;)
I should post a poem about this scene...well, maybe first some thoughts.
One thing that stands out (and one of the reasons--perhaps the main one, or part of it--that i love this scene so much is that while--how to say it?--while the fate of all the World, and the Quest, hangs in the balance, Sam seems to perceive that the only important thing (or most important, maybe--not sure how to say it, once again) is to comfort his master's bruised spirit, and let Frodo know he loves him. Not to say the rest of the World and the Quest isn't important--it's just that, well, what Sam did in that scene was what he most needed to do, and his concern for Frodo and their friendship came to the forefront. I also love the tenderness in this scene, with Frodo so ravaged by his Burden, but Sam cradles him so gently...anyway, that was my take on the scene. It's so beautiful...
Maybe I will post a poem. I don't think i've posted this one before on here, though i might have. It's one of my earlier ones, but one of my favorites. ;) It's from Sam's point of view, on Mount Doom naturally.

Come, Rise Up

Come, rise up, my friend--
The darkness is behind us!
You have journeyed far to end--
Let's finish ere death finds us!

Chorus
Do you see the sky
Away high and clear?
They fight for you and I
Master, me dear!
The Captains of the West
Seek to clear the sky for us;
Let me bear you on your Quest
In last love ere we come to dust--
In last love let me carry you there!

Come, the time is at hand
When the World would be awoken;
For this you have passed through this land--
Let the One's power be broken!

Chorus

Come, let us be rid of what you bear,
Let Sauron's torment of you cease!
Remember again the World so fair--
Come out of the dark and be at peace.

Chorus

Come, I would see you free--
No weight on the heart of him I love!
Just you hang on to me--
I'll carry you to the fires above!

Chorus

What can I say Eariel? I feel like I keepp repeating myself, but only because every single thing you write is amazing. There's not one bad thing in the lot. Beautiful, stunning, but altogether usual for you.

Mount Doom. I never know if these scenes or the Grey Havens scene makes me cry more. Maybe it's the same amount.
It's so hard to watch, and yet, you can't not watch it. It's the peak of Frodo's pain, the climax of everything we've been coming towards. What really gets me is when Sam is asking Frodo if he can remember the Shire, and the taste of strawberries, and Frodo says he can't remember anything that brings him joy anymore, he's just naked in the dark. At that point, I want to do just what Sam does. Just hold Frodo in my arms and cry, because it's so perfectly sad. And then of course, there's when Frodo has to drop the Ring into Mount Doom. You can see, and even almost feel (Lij does such a great job acting in these scenes) that all of Frodo's being is centered on the Ring. It's creepy. It's like, there's no Frodo there anymore. And then, there's the part where Frodo is hanging on to the cliff, dangling over the fires. The first time I saw LOTR, I seriously thought he was going to let go. I thought he was going to fall. So how relieved and grateful and............ I can't even describe it, did I feel towards Sam at that moment. "Don't you dare let go!" Frodo feels like his soul has fallen into the fires along with the Ring. He wants to let go. Sam is there to remind him not too let go, that there are things worth living for still, and that he loves him. And then, there's the part where they're outside of Mount Doom, fire pouring down around them, most certainly looking like "the end of all things." And they hold on to each other.
I think these are some of the most powerful, emotionally draining scenes. I also think that these are the scenes that show the true strength and love of Frodo and Sam's friendship most clearly.
I know there is other things I can say, but I'm having a bit of a block at the moment, so I'll wait to see what you guys have to say and then repond.
And..........since everyone else posted a screen cap, I feel called upon to do so. So, there's my avvie, for one. And....... these ones. One of Frodo and one of Sam.

^What beautiful pics! I feel a banner coming on. :P (Which brings me to something i've been wanting to ask Forever. I'm not sure how to blend one picture in to another, or even if my graphics program does it. I've been not doing banners for a while because i got tired of always using the spraypaint effect in between the two pictures. My graphics program is called Ultimate Paint (or upaint, i believe), if that helps. It's a bit confusing. ) I dream of becoming as skilled at graphics as Forever...Perhaps one day... ;)
Thank you thank you! :) I feel more and more special in my poem-writing ability. I'd like to see some written by the other members too, any time you want to post some. (I don't want to make people shy about their own poetry beside mine. )
Beautiful words, TT! I'm pretty sure i could feel myself beginning to choke up as i read them. I know what you mean. One thing i like about that part on Mount Doom afterwards is that Frodo's giving back what Sam has given to him, and also it's like they were before--Frodo's like an older brother who looks after Sam. I love that moment when Frodo's hanging, as well. It's like the Ring isn't quite willing to give up entirely yet, and so still clings to what it can--it's Bearer's soul. But when given the choice, Frodo chooses Sam, and to live instead of die. (I wrote a poem about this, which is one of my entries in Pip&leggyluvr's poetry contest, if you want to see it. There's another poetry contest in the Contest section as well, btw, if anyone from here besides me wants to enter. I'd be glad of the company. ;) )

Now for some screencaps... vI love Frodo's expression in this one...

^From one scene you talked about, TT. ;)

^And i love this one too... *sigh* So weary.

http://www.frodoforever.com/gallery/alb ... al100b.jpg
^And how can we forget this? ;)

I hope the webmistress of Frodoforever.com doesn't mind people linking directly to the pictures...

Frodos-Guide, check out this link:

http://www.justjared.com/gossip/2006/07 ... la-racine/

He's been dating Pam for quite a long time now, actually ;-)

My stupid computer doesn't let me see your pics, Eariel. This internet security thingy can be so annoying, really. :disgust:
Anyway, I can read your poem, which was most definitely beautiful. I feel exactly like TT - repeating myself. :P Which is a compliment for you, though.
About the graphics question: I don't know your program, so I'm afraid I can't help you, because I use Photoshop and every graphic program is quite different from the other ones. It could be (if it is a very simple program just for photo editing), that it doesn't even have the blending function. To make sure, you could check out these tutorials: http://www.ultimatepaint.com/tutorial/index.php
Sorry

I agree with everything that was said about Mt Doom. There's another point that I wanted to mention: I think this scene shows very clearly and in a most touching way the love between Frodo and Sam. But...also the differences between them. I am talking about the different kinds of heroism. Sam went on the quest because he wanted to help Frodo and because he loves him, Frodo did it for the reason of saving the world. So they are both heroes on a different way. Understand me, I love Sam, for his character and for everything he did for Frodo, but without his master, he would not have made the journey. So maybe there's an even purer heroism about Frodo than about Sam. I'm not sure about that. :-)
