Now here's an interesting fact for those of you who don't already know this. Whilst on set, the scene wherein Aragorn kicks the orcs helmet, they had to do sooo many shots of it so that it flew over the camera at the perfect angle, but the final movie shot that we see, Aragorns scream is real. Viggo actually broke his toe because he kicked the helmet that hard! Can you believe it lol! It's a good job that it went so perfectly that time. I don't know how they would have shot it again otherwise :S lol.
Yes i am a fountain of useless lotr information

I've heard that before, actually seen it on the RotK SEE DVD... I'm sorry for Viggo, but I couldn't help but laugh... who would have thought that an orc helmet would be that dangerous?
But I thought it was really great of him that already on the next day he went on with shooting! Exactly like Sean Astin, when he got his foot hurt... Those actors are really amazing!

Yeah, those guys are tough. Especially Viggo. Along with breaking his toe, he cracked a tooth and wanted to have it glued back on so he could finish the scene. And Orlando I think cracked a couple of ribs too. Yikes! No way could I put up with that the way they did.

poor guy. i feel bad for him. but it looked well acted. i also heard that Gandalf wasnt supposed to bump his head while in Bilbo's house but when he did, he just acted through it really well that they kept it. and honestly, i realized a lot of people found that really amusing and thats what they laughed at.

Yeah, that was another one, where the actor just kept going with it and so PJ decided to keep the shot! Both of them did real well at making it look scripted even though it was at their expense.

When I heard that I thought, "Man poor Viggo. You got the right shot but your not suppose to hurt yourself." After I said that I started to laugh because I thought the samy thing as Lady Erana "who would have thought that an orc helmet would be that dangerous?"
I never heard about the Gandalf one.
But as you said Itarildë "Both of them did real well at making it look scripted even though it was at their expense." It's funny how things happen on accident and wind up in the movie

That's what makes a great actor so much better, if they act it out even if it hurts

I feel sorry for Vigg but that's so funny. I have to give all the actors that got hurt and went with it anyway props. That was one tough group of actors.

Yeah, they put up with a lot. But it was worth it. I like to believe they enjoyed every minute of it, making memories (no matter how painful it was). And because of them, we get to enjoy the movies forever now!

Yes, that's also true Peredhil. The scene when the Rohans were battling the Wargs and Aragorn fell off the cliff, the current in the river was stronger than they had expected and Viggo was quickly pulled under and couldn't get out. But luckily he kicked a rock and was able to push himself back to the surface. What a relief!

Yeah, they definitely put up with a lot to get LotR filmed!

They were so good about not complaining about it all. They had such positive attitudes about everything.
