yeah here's another fact in case you guys didn't already know this. In FOTR, the scene where Sam follows Frodo into the water even though he can't swim, an accident occured.

The water was searched for any bits of dirt or hazardous materials before that scene was shot...however, on one of the shoots, just as Sean Astin steps into the water, he stops suddenly. Now PJ, Elijah and the rest of the crew are wondring what on earth he's stopped for. On futher inspection, they realise that a piece of glass has peirced through Sean Astin's foot. Now this thing was a monster! No word of a lie. If you look at the making on the special features, you'll see what a whopper it really was!

:stun: Ouch. Poor him, that must've been a bad day for him. :( I find it scary when you walk in water and everything around you is obscured.

I remember I accidentally stepped on a glass bottle in the water once. Luckily, it was still intact and it wasn't broken. :)

For some reason, the part of Sean's autobiography really stuck with me is when he's talking about this scene and he mentions this giant blood clot that was stuck in the wound, and how Elijah started poking it with a stick after it fell out onto the ground. Apparently it grossed PJ out, which I guess is hard to do. (Sorry for the graphicness, that's really how I remember reading it... :P)
