^Welcome! Would you like to join? I can add you to the list if you like, since i'm the founder. :)
You have a good point, Forever. I agree--it is rather sad to think of Frodo's innocence being lost in a way. (And it's the same for me about Frodo being the one I truly adore. :P Tho of course I love Lij too. ^_^)

Another thought that I had while watching RotK: I'm not too happy about what PJ did with the Shelob's Lair scenes. I don't think that Frodo would ever go as far as to send Sam away. Of course you could argue that it was the ring, but why did PJ have to put this stuff in the movie even though it was not in the book?

^I do believe PJ decided to put that part in for dramatic storytelling reasons. He wanted Frodo to be alone when he entered Shelob's Lair (except for Gollum, of course...) and then have Sam come back to save his master.

I'm not crazy about that part either, but it does make it more dramatic from a storytelling viewpoint. It's also very heart-wrending, and I have a thing for heart-wrending scenes (as evidenced by the fact that my fave scene ever is the one on the side of Mount Doom, before Sam carries Frodo). Soo...i guess i can live with it. (I will say that i like the moment very much when Frodo realizes that Gollum has betrayed him and that he shouldn't have sent Sam away.) *huggles Frodo* :) Btw, how should we celebrate Lij's b-day? It's coming right up (on the 28th of this month--i think he'll be 27).

oOoOo Yes please!!

I too was a bit disappointed about the scenes at Shelob's cave from pretty much beginning to end. I don't like how Gollum threw the food away, nor that Sam was sent away because of it either. I don't even like the manner in which Frodo was found. His body was in plain sight (unlike the book) and Sam didn't use the ring (also unlike the book.)

And yes! I think a celebration would be very fit. (That's just my two cents. :) )

Hmmm.... we could ask someone to put a global sticky announcing his birthday... just an idea.

We could, lol--that's certainly an idea. Something we've done in the past is post pictures of him, like from Always and Forever (a fansite).

I'd really love to do this picture posting again, I think it's such a neat idea to celebrate his B-day.
Plus, we could start an Elijah-related graphics contest! :)

That's an excellent idea, guys. I love graphic contests (If I only had the skill to enter one! :P ), and posting pictures never fails!

Great idea, Forever! We'll have to see do that. :) Speaking of ideas, i could post some of my old Lij-related poems. lol :P ("Old" partly because i haven't written any recently--i've been kind of...pouring my mental energy into a different fandom... *glances at top banner*)

That a good idea, Eariel! (And don't spend all of your creative energy on Avatar, please save some of it for Frodo and Lij, too :P Tho I'm sure it's very swoonworthy, too - I've never seen it, but I believe in your good taste for movies and TV :) )

Anyway, back to the topic: Any more ideas?

Edit: I had a lot of spare time, so I re-read the first 5 pages or so of this thread. Man, it's kind of nice to read our first conversations here and then think how much everything has changed since then. Did I tell you guys how much I love you? It's so great to come here every day and know there will be someone who understands your love for Frodo and LotR. Most of my RL friends just don't appreciate them as much as I'd like them to.

Yeah, that is nice to know, since the world at large isn't guaranteed to be lotr-crazy. (Speaking of which, don't worry, i'll certainly try to keep some creative energy for my beloved Frodo and Lij, especially with the latter's birthday coming up! Tho i'm glad you trust my assessment of Avatar. :P )
Let's see, i'll have to keep thinking about ideas. Speaking of old conversations, tho, Forever, remember how you, Starlight and I had this joke about how we were so crazy about Frodo we would even swoon when he was chewing the lembas bread? :P 'Tis true. ^_^

Oh yeah, I remember. :P
*thinks of chewing Frodo*
*faints*

Oh dear, it was a nice time when TT was still here. :'( Ah well, perhaps she'll return some day. I hope she will.

Ok then, do you think these are enough to celebrate:
-posting pics
-posting poems
-starting a Lij-contest
