This is kind of an old Australian indie film in which Hugo Weaving plays, believe it or not, a drag queen
, ;D.
Here's the basic plot: He's one of a trio of drag queens whose bus breaks down in the Australian outback while they're on their way to a show, and, to Hugo Weaving's character's extreme dread, to pick up his son. Along the way, they encounter various other difficulties, and try to come to terms with all their personal demons and internal conflicts.
It's very funny, very sweet, and actually, quite thought-provoking- it brings up some interesting issues about prejudice and how damaging/wrong it really is for a child to have a parent who's gay (it's implied that Hugo Weaving's character is gay). I really enjoyed it, and it's definitely worth seeing if you're a Hugo Weaving fan
at all !
