Ya I see your point about it not being very accurate...but I mean they tend to change movies from books, and it makes a completely new creation..neither worse nor better then the original. I still love this movie, and I think that everything about it was very well done!

:bye2:

Yes, I just finished reading the Illiad and it's quite...different, that change to the screen. I like the book better. But they leave the gods out! I didn't like that. But I really liked Odyssyus! Great character! Paris on the other hand...was fun to watch boing a wimp.

I haven't read the Illiad, but I assume all movies are far from the original movie, book, legend, etc.

Only saw Troy once. WAAAAAAY to much of WAAAAAAY too many peoples. Paris, Helen, Archilles, and so forth. :hide: :hide: :hide:

I watched it with my cousin and she laughed at me every time I screamed and ducked under a pillow so I would have to look at Brad Pitt's naked butt. ICK!

Yes, yes, the whole thing is about how Paris and Helen had an affair, but do I have to see every last detail of it??? SHEESH!

On the other hand, the battle scenes were pretty good, I loved Sean Bean's job and the narration he did :-D . Twas spiffy! It kinda didn't rub very well how Paris was such a whimp, but it made Hector look all the better. Poor Hecter...

All in all, I give it three out of five stars. :)

Oh god, this is my second favorite movie next to LotR....
It pissed me off that all the characters who had great potential were killed off, and wimpy little Paris got to stay...I don't particularly MIND Orli, though I'm definitely no fan of his, but I thought Eric bana's character Hector didn't deserve to die. He was a wonderful character and they could have worked more on him.
I liked garrett hedlund's patroclus as well-I was close to tears when hector unintentionally killed him.

He'd do ANYTHING for Helen

well the movie dont match with the real and as a heritage i wanna tell the facts
paris ask for a duel with husband of helen. he accepted it. it was a spear duel. but greece made a trick. they put a poison which causes to faint at the tip of spear. they start the duel. they shot the spear one by one. one spear of helens husband teared paris's arm so he become likew drunk. he cant fight any more so he ask to postpone duel a day but hector said " no,all will finish today". he ask a duel with agemennon but he afraid and send achilles. achilles came the arena and turn his back to hector. and said hector to shot him. hektor put his spear to ground and tell he cant fight like this. achilles turn back too quick and said but i do and shot to hector. hector took a wound then achilles run to him and shot him more times. this is the way achilles kill hector. achilles cant kill hector without trick and they cant win the war without trick too.

and the way of paris death.
paris is very angry the duel without honour so he take his sword and went the camp of greece and told he came for the revenge. achilles was on a vehicle which is pulled by horses. he started to ride paris. before he crush paris, paris jump right and take the arrow and bow of a greece soldier and shot achilles from foot wrist. and he killed him. he run away with the suprising lookings of greece soldiers. helen was waiting just behinde the battle field. and paris hug her. but agemennon was there and thrusted a knife into back of paris. then escaped from there.....

Basically everyone dies.

The great essential to war movies...

But then.

I rather go with how the movie did it....

Atleast Andromache escaped with her baby instead of captured by Agamemnon and made to an incubine and having them kill her's and Hector's son. I would cry...I really would.

I so loved this trroy. Hector and Achilies were played very well. I am not really all that fond of brad pitt, bu this was an acceptional performance. Paris played by Orlando Bloom was wonderful.

I didn't like Troy to much... I wanted to see it but unfortunately I was to young to see it in the cinema, and when I saw it at home I was a bit not-happy...
Orlando ws such a softy, you know, he was like a little boy who was not sweet or something. * can't explain*
but I liked Sean Bean, he's a really good fighter and he is handsome to :)

i think this movie was very sad cause alot of people get to die in the movie except for paris..(of course  ) he would like only seem to care for his own love and not for briseis´s love..i think he was very selfish and that he was a coward..and very stupid to bring helen to Troy and risking Troy to fall...(is this sense correct? :annoyed2: ) but i would like to see another version that sticks with what "really" happend and then with the same actors but i think seeing brad pitt and Eric bana die is worse enough it would be a calamity if they'd show orli dying....

The only thing I wish they didn't do was to have Paris crawl to his brother after losing a duel. I was like scoffing at that scene.
