I really love the open scrolls archive. It is a great place to find lotr fanfics. It also has a really good forum. I definately recommend this site. There are a few certain authors that I like. They are Alassante, Ningloreth, Space Weavil, and Ellbee. Below is the like to the site:

The most interesting fanfic site I have ever been to:

The first few stories are something like rping put in story form, but the later ones are really good and well written.

www.storiesofarda.com is probably my favorite. Here are my fave authors... mostly Aragorn and/or hobbit-related stories. I can also recommend a lot of stories, depending on what you like to read:

Alisha B (In the Hands of the Enemy = loveable angsty AU)
Legolass (check out her fanfiction.net account)
Meckinock (LOVE... book verse love! Halbarad, awesome hobbit, poor Aragorn...)
Timmy2222 (Guh. No words.)

http://www.aragorn-legolas.5u/index.html was a rather interesting fanfic site I found. They're Aragorn/Legolas based (no,not slash. No slashy stuff)
