It's fun, that one...has a lot of interesting things to do on it, although I prefer this one personally.

This is a good site. I wonder when they'll re-open the contests.

I don't know if 'professional' is the word I'd use for The Barrow Downs RP"g". More like 'Structured'.... I found it too structured for my freeform tastes.

Wow that site is really cool. I already knew the personality test there, but I took it again, just because I like it so much.

Barrow Downs is still going despite not having been updated since the year 2000 or so. The forum has a fairly active core of regulars keeping it alive.

OK, I gave logging in on barrowdowns with your link a try, Hanasian. Same ol' same ol'. The site gives me a welcome message on the top right side, and tells me I last logged in on 08 August 2019. Went over to "New Members - Introduce Yourself Here", and at the bottom left I find a box which gives me the following "cheery" news about what I may not do: post new threads, post replies, post attachments, edit my posts (well, I can't post in the first place!). If I click on the "Post Reply" button, I get the next "cheery" message from "vBulletin Message":
Gandolorin, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: 1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? 2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
My best guess ist that the "awaiting activation" bit is the fly in the ointment. I never received any e-mail from barrowdowns, even though I vaguely remember there being a bit about an activation e-mail. So instead on barrowdowns as someone able to post, I'm in some sort of digital limbo ....

I shot a flare at The Barrow Wight and another guy I know has been a mod there and will see if they do anything with it.

I had posted here before I had read your post in Board index » Life Outside LotR » House of Bombadil (Miscellaneous Randomness) » What is the last site you visited? (not A-U!)about the absentee owner wanting to approve any new members.

Their core of old users seem to be strong there, but it is hard to get inside a Barrow.
