Plot: The year is 1645, and the golden age of piracy is at a high point. Though the royal navies of major European countries are attempting to gain control of the seas, pirates remain a threat, and hold much power over the shipping lanes and ports of the Caribbean. Ships and towns exporting treasure or slaves are at the biggest risk.
Though the blank edges of the map are being filled in with the exploration of the New World, the land is still largely unexplored. Treasure is said to be hidden in the mysterious islands of the Caribbean, and though these claims are unconfirmed, they have caused a great deal of uproar in the sailing communities. Each sailor wants to claim such treasure for himself. A rush has been made to find the hidden treasure by pirates and honest sailors alike, though few have been successful.
The fate of the sea is unknown. Choose your character's path, as well as the path that the sea will take.
