I'm a new member around these parts so I thought I better get this thread out of the way. I won't necessarily say these are
my websites because we want to stress community run, but they are ones I dedicate most of my time to.
TolkienGateway.net - An encyclopedia based on the same engine as Wikipedia which allows anyone to edit articles. Currently it has well over 5,000 articles (almost double that of the Encyclopedia of Arda). We're essentially trying to go beyond the legendarium (though that's still our main point of focus) and add information relating to the books, collectibles, images, music, games, etc. If you guys have any suggestions please let us know, we love constructive criticism.
TolkienNews.net - This site is much smaller and has a long way to go but its goal is to list all of the news relating to Tolkien. We grew tired of sites *cough* theonering.net *cough* posting news that had nothing to do with Tolkien and other sites which didn't post news as frequently as we had liked. Thus TolkienNews.net was born. We just had our 1 year anniversary and have a lot of big features planned so stay tuned.
Also on TG we're trying to create articles for all the major Tolkien websites, you guys could probably write a better bio on AU than I can, if you can think of anything to add feel free to:
