Some books should not be opened with impunity.
The year is 2008. The world is at ease, and in a time of peace. The nations have mended ties.
But all is not well.
Something is amiss with the world.
Books are dangerous tools in this time.
For reasons yet unknown, books have become like portals to the world they describe. Strange things happen to people when they read certain books. Not always bad things, of course, but their lives are changed.
But the wrong books have been opened.
Darkness has been allowed into our world.
Select people can see this darkness, for they are the people who opened the wrong books. These people are attempting to force the darkness back into their books. But it is proving difficult.
The darkness doesn't want to go back.
Acerbus Liber Libri (Latin for Dark Book) is a home made role play site. You can play a human, or a creature that has escaped a book (a list can be found at the site). Human characters are normal people who have opened books and let darkness into the world, and so are attempting to close the books again. You must have one human like this. Other humans can be people affected by the opened books. Have fun...
