And I have another new layout up!

http://www.harthads-haven.com

But for some reason the page titles of all my pages (except the homepage) are registering as 'Untitled Documents'. Can anyone help? I know I put the page title in correctly. My hosting company is GoDaddy.

In the page source, the title tags do have 'Untitled document' between them which is why they say that. How do you edit your site? Are you doing the HTML all yourself or is some/all of it via a platform? Not your host, because as far as I'm aware that should have nothing to do with it, but a content management platform or the like.

If you do edit the HTML manually, or have access to, the best thing to do is just open the source code in an editor and change the info between the title tags to the name of the page :)

from;
Code:
<html>
<head>
<title>Untitled document</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>
<title>Bag End: HH.com</title>

Ah, actually, just spotted that. You have contradicting title tags. Change the first one to the title you want, and delete the second one. It'll be something to do with how you added the title in the first place. I would just manually change it, even if you don't usually.

Code:
<html>
<head>
<title>Bag End: HH.com</title>
</head>

Hope that's helped :D

Thanks! :) It did help, but whenever I close out of my editor and save, it always goes right back to what it was before.

This is what I'm putting:

Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en-US" lang="en-US"><head>
<script></script><title>Harthad's Haven.com</title>
<link href="http://www.harthads-haven.com/stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
</head>

But this is what it shows after:

Code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<title>Untitled document</title>
</head>
<body>
<p>
<title>Affiliates: HH.com</title>
<meta name="robots" content="index,follow" />
<link href="http://www.harthads-haven.com/stylesheet.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
</p>

And now I don't know what to do. :( Can you help?

Hmmm. The only reason it should do that is if you don't have permission to edit the file, or if another file is overriding your changes. Without seeing your source code, I don't know how to help. I can hit view source, but that doesn't mean that's what the page looks like in your editor.

Other than stripping it straight back, just the basic;

Code:
<html>
  <head>
  <title></title>
  </head>
  <body>

  </body>
</html>

and adding in your content/title/css link. If it still does it, then there must be something overriding it. If you don't use a content management system at all, then it could be your css but I'm not sure how..

Like I said, try stripping it down to the basics, even try creating a new page with no content, and see if that does the same.

Thanks, Ennostiel! That did help. :)

Does anyone know how you can allow users to change the 'skin' of your website, using php? It seems like every site I go to has that and it must be really easy to do it, but I can't seem to figure it out. :(

Well, my site hasn't been very active lately. :( I've tried and tried, but I don't really know what to do to get people to really want to come. Any ideas?

(And yes--I've looked at what A-U says on it's suggestion page :))

My dad has been talking of shutting down my website, but he won't do that if there's enough activity around the forum. Does anyone want to come back, or is Harthad's Haven done for good?

Did you ever change the password settings? Cause the reason I left is that stupid 'you must change your password every month' thing. Never could remember what I changed it to. But now I went in and did the forgot password thing. :P
