Here is my poem
Fierce warrior that
he is. Proud, stubborn
and strong. Has skill with
the bow, and the steel blade,
can master anything in his way.
What destiny lies within? Hidden
in his troubled mind.
Unbreathing soul that
is mine.
Son of the
Shadows, a black-
crowded mind, it's not his
fault, but mine.
It shouldn't have turned
out this way! Sweet sorrow,
it's just a black void.
Darkness crept over him,
because of his master, swore
an oath that cannot be
taken back.
In the end he will choose,
to fight back and choose his
own fate, or keep his dark oath
that he swore to control him
evermore.
At the end the light
shall prevail, he shall be
his old gentle self again. With his
head held high, no
darkness will control
him again!
The dark oath of
his master will be taken
back. To control him no more. Only
his Destiny will guide him,
a destiny that shall choose his fate

Whoa...whoa...I can never compete with that...but here is mine...
Dragons
By: TS
Mystical and Magical,
Beautiful and Powerful,
Misunderstood and Sneaky,
Dangerous and Brave.
Those skills and more they possess,
They are always blamed for a mess.
But no one could have really known,
For they haven’t really shown.
Some call them “Beast.”
But they’re not that in the least.
Another name they are labeled,
Some believe they only live in fables.
Dragons! Dragons!
Beautiful and noble,
Dragons! Dragons!
Majestic and wise.
They where here before we came,
We are the only ones to blame,
Now they have vanished and gone,
Their beauty and power never to be seen again.
Our own loss, one I regret,
If we could change, I would bet,
That we would have let them be,
Instead of driving them into the “Death Sea.”

Here's mine... Nothing very good, just a poem from a story I'm writing. Well, it's more of a song; but *shrugs* whatever.
When the day dawns,
Gryphons will take to the skies,
Wanderers revealed,
Their destiny accept,
When evil is overcome by good,
There’ll be many happy endings
And dreams come true…
Prophecies of old,
Songs were often sung,
In the great halls of kings.
Evil will fall, the good will rise,
And all will be well once again.

I actually had the idea in the middle of my guitar lesson a few weeks ago.. it was really funny. All of a sudden I grab my notebook and start scribbling away in it.

Your poem's neat. That sounds like I story i might enjoy. ;D
As for my poem (well, song )... It's from Frodo's point of view (who else? ) in Mordor, and he's supposed to be kind of...remembering the cool bright beauty of winter and contrasting it with the dark fire of the Ring that now torments him. And yes, it was at least partly inspired by Evanescence, in particular Whisper and My Last Breath (from whence of course came the inspiration for the title as well ). So here it is.
I Miss the Winter
Snowflake,
Flutter softly
To me ere you melt away:
Floating--wind-borne feather-lace--
I miss your dance of gentle grace:
White foamflecks in a shimm'ring Sea--
That Winter's breath blew me...!
(Crushed neath all I bear,
I scream, "Is no-one there?")
Bid me to bleed
(My wounds obey you)--
Deny me the sky
(Drown deeper--Darkness):
One Doom I've sworn
(I'll not betray you)--
Send me to die!
(I rise to finish...)
Icicle,
I'd gladly give you
My heart to plunge your frozen tine:
Pierce through the Fire's darkling spells--
I miss the chime of icy bells:
Delight the living, fragile thorn--
Still sparkle unforlorn...
(Crushed neath all I bear,
I scream, "Is no-one there?")
Bid me to bleed
(My wounds obey you)--
Deny me the sky
(Drown deeper--Darkness):
One Doom I've sworn
(I'll not betray you)--
Send me to die!
(I rise to finish...)
Nothing have I kept from you--
(Broken, lost to all I knew):
Tell me that you wept for me,
Dying to know my home is free...!
All you've ever asked I've done--
Grant me only this:
My treasure dearer than the Sun--
(You're there--I feel your love...)
Bid me to bleed
(My wounds obey you)--
Deny me the sky
(Drown deeper--Darkness):
One Doom I've sworn
(I'll not betray you)--
Send me to die!
(I rise to finish...)

I miss winter, too.... *cries* We moved to a waaaaay warmer climate so the coldest here is 60 at night. Sometimes 50-40 out in the desert.
Beautiful poem!

Aw, thank you! Actually, i live in southern Californina in the USA, so...we don't get much snow, either. Which I miss as well (having visited Kentucky and North Carolina, although i've lived here all my life otherwise). We do get it in the mountains, though...(from which i don't live very far away), but the snow doesn't make it this far down. So in some ways, I guess i identify with the hobbits in that way, seeing as i believe the books say that a heavy snowfall was rare except for on the North moors, i think. lol Though perhaps Frodo would have seen light snowfall at least, and icicles, assuming the Shire's climate is more like that of England, so...anyway. Thank you again.
