Falling In Love
She first met him on a dark day.
A day filled with darkness, and sorrow;
Filled with shades of gray.
Filled with thoughts of evil,
And shadows.
A day filled with rain clouds & storms.
A day filled with rain and hail, snow and lightning,
Pain and suffering, tears and sorrow.
Yet suddenly, the mist seemed to clear,
The clouds, to part.
The fear, to lessen.
And that was when, she saw him.
Kind and happy, sweet and beautiful.
Perfect in every way.
The sun seemed to shine, and the birds to sing.
Shadow and evil, no longer stirred in her heart.
Everyday after,
Darkness still lingered,
Yet it seemed not to matter.
For everyday, she knew he would be there,
And what little darkness that was there,
Would be gone,
The moment that she laid eyes on him.
Everything seemed to be finally turning around.
But evil does not give up so easily.
It returned, now stronger than ever,
Making her think she was nothing.
Worth nothing, felt nothing, saw nothing, had nothing,
Was nothing.
Made here think, she wasn’t good enough for him.
Made her think, that he would never love a girl like her.
So she made a promise to herself,
That she couldn’t let him know.
Under no circumstances, could she let him know.
She couldn’t let him know, how she felt.
How every time he glanced her way, her heart melted.
How every time he laughed, she felt like she was soaring.
How every time he cried, her heart cried with him.
How every time he talked to her, she was afraid.
Afraid, that she was falling, falling,
In love.
For if she fell in love with him, and he with her,
He would gain nothing.
For she wasn’t worth anything;
For she was nothing.
Everyday, she lived in fear.
Fear of him,
And fear of herself;
Fear of darkness and shadows.
So one day, in a desperate attempt,
To end her pain,
And take away any he may ever have encountered, had he fallen,
She pulled out a dagger, and raised it before he heart.
She was ready to end it,
Ready for it to stop;
Ready to plunge it into her heart, and be lost,
Forever.
She was so close.
So close, to it ending,
When suddenly, she heard a desperate cry….
NO!!
It echoed through the night,
And stopped her plunge,
If only for a moment.
She turned to look,
And there he stood.
He rushed forward, taking the dagger from her hand….
And she let him.
I cannot let thee kill thyself, he said.
For if it were to be so, I would have to, in turn,
Kill myself, as well.
For I could not live, without your face,
Without your smile,
Without you tears;
Without You.
For you see, evil haunted me.
Darkness surrounded me.
Shadows engulfed me,
Until I met you.
You are my light in darkness,
My hope in fear,
My angel;
My love.
Without you, I would surely perish.
And as he finished, tears leaked from her eyes.
He shook his head in confusion.
Why have I upset thee?
I don’t understand.
But she smiled, and lifted her hand to his face.
My love, she whispered.
My precious, precious love.
I cry not tears of sorrow, but tears of joy.
For in darkness, I too walked.
But now, I have found the light, in your eyes.
You are my light, my hope, my refuge;
My love.
I loveth thee,
And ye loveth me.
And I have found hope in this crazy world, for the first time in my life.
Ye loveth me back?
He asked, quietly.
And she nodded, a smile on her face, and a light in her eyes.
And he leaned forward, and kissed her lightly.
He didn’t want to go to far;
Didn’t want to scare her.
But she was no longer afraid.
As he leaned back, she stopped him, her hand on his face.
Don’t Stop, she whispered.
Don’t ever stop.
And all the darkness was lifted,
And light filled their lives.
And they lived, and died, and were,
Together.
For she loveth him
And he loveth her.
For evil does not give up easily,
But love,
Never does.
A Walk To Remember (From Landon's POV)
I had never shown her any attention.
I had never looked her way.
But by the time I realized I was in love,
I knew that it was too late.
Everything about her was perfect.
She was everybody’s friend.
I will never forget the day I found out,
That her life was soon to end.
All the darkness had finally lifted,
The day her hand touched mine.
But now it seemed to all be coming back.
Things were slowly starting to decline.
I remember going home that day,
And crying all night long.
I felt like my heart had been ripped out;
Everything was going so wrong.
I had dreamed of the day that I would meet,
The one that was perfect for me.
But now that I finally had,
She was being ripped away from me.
A couple days afterwards;
After she’d told me of her news,
She came, stood on my doorstep, looked me in the eye,
And said those blessed words, “I love you.”
I knew I didn’t have long with her,
So I got straight to work.
I made all her wildest dreams come true,
And did my best to hide all my hurt.
And then I did something that I
Never thought would come to be.
I got on my knee, and asked my love,
If she would marry me.
And so it was,
We became husband and wife.
We made our promise,
To be together, for life.
It was a beautiful day;
Everything went great.
Everything was fine,
Until in, crept fate.
We hadn’t been married long,
When suddenly one day,
My angel fainted,
And was taken away.
Her long beautiful hair,
And her sweet tender head,
Now rested on a pillow,
In a hospital bed.
Every day and night,
On that bed she lay.
And slowly, to my horror,
I watched her fade away.
I think about her everyday,
And dream of her each night.
But I know that she is heaven,
And I know that she’s alright.
For now that she is gone,
Her love is like the wind.
I can’t see it,
But I’ll always be able to feel it.
