A couple days ago we learned about Lord Byron in British Literature. He was a Romantic writer (Romantic as is Romanticism, not smooch smooth kiss kiss) The main characters in almost all of his writings had the same attributes, and therefore a Byronic hero is any character who fits Byron's characters.
A Byronic Hero is:
~Moody
~Dark
~Most often good looking
~Has a dark past
~Rebellious
~Doesn't like the social norm
~Is usually struggling with something
~Is respectable, even though his actions arn't. Example: For all you 24 fans, when Jack tortures the crud out of a guy, that action isn't very respectable, but I don't think there's a single person who watches that without inwardly chanting "Go Jack! Take him down!")
Examples of Byronic Heroes:
Jack Harkness for Torchwood is the single most perfect example I know. Others are Jack Beaur, Jack Sparrow (a lot of Jacks...) Prince Zuko from Avatar, House from House, and even Batman.
Basically, think dark and moody. They don't have to fit all the attributes, but they should fit most.
So, the RULES!
~Any size graphic works. I don't care if its a wall paper or an avvie. Do what you feel comfortable doing.
~The usual: no swearing, no mean stuff, yadda yadda yadda.
~Feature a Byronic Hero from a TV show, movie, or book. If you're not sure if the character you want to do is Byronic, PM me and I'll try to help you.
This is a very free contest. Just have fun with it!
The due date will be April 7.
Participants:
Turwaithiel Swann-
Coccinelle-
Johnny's Fan-
Firiel-
Will-
Caunion the TIme Lord-Entry in

I want to join!
Could I do Byron himself? If not I'll find someone else, but I'd kind of like to do the bold, bad poet.

Thanks FM! Took me loads of working on it. And I'm glad it turned out nicely. Can't wait 'til I see the rest of the entries.

Done! I hope Harry Osbourne classifies as Byronic... he's probably more of a redemptive character... but I think he also fits the Byronic mold for the most part.
Anyway, ugh, pictures of James Franco were ridiculously hard to find! *grumbles about searching for Spiderman 3 screencaps for hours*

FM, that's incredible!
Turwaithiel, I seriously burst out laughing when I saw your entry - which is a good thing. I love Fang, and the quote you picked is awesome.
Caunion, I love the colors in yours! And the brushes in the middle are really cool.
I'd like to enter - but I'm not sure I'll have the time. I'm gonna try, though.
