Post subject:  Challenge Contest #3 [+AWARDS]
The purpose of this challenge is to use textures as a background. This is to challenge your blending and cutting skills.

Example
Image vs Image

I took out the background (crowd) and replaced it with a textured background. The term texture can be applied loosely here. It doesn't have to be one you found, it can be a sort of thing you made yourself.

-Make both an icon and a blend. They will be judged separately, since they take different skills.

Joining, of course, as I am Teh Queen of Negative Space, and textures sort of follow that whole idea. :P



And I'm loving that the award is a) gorgeous and b) matches the banner I made for the last challenge. :D

For the blend I put the image on top of the texture on lighten and then put some more textures on top, I hope that's legit? If not, I can do something else.

And an icon in the same vein because...well, Switchfoot.

Question: I have a set of 'textures' that are actually just scans of different pieces of paper, envelopes and post-its and things like that. Does that count as a texture?

Aak! I comepletely forgot about this! *scrambles*

EDIT: Ok, here they are! I used the lighten feature over dark backgrounds to make these stand out. They turned out a lot better than I expected.

Great entries so far!

@ Skitty: haha, yeah, I thought yellow was a good and unique color, so there you go. And yep, those count as textures!

Also, since I was out of town all weekend, I'll let this go for a little bit longer.
