Hey folks, I'm working on a project that needs AI-generated images integrated through API. Been looking at different options but getting confused with all the providers out there. Has anyone integrated image generation into their application? What's your experience with implementation and costs?

Look for services that offer good documentation and reasonable token costs. Some providers charge per image, while others use credit systems. Also, check if they support batch processing if you plan to create multiple images at once. The difference in quality between providers can also be significant, so test the service thoroughly before making a decision. Technical details and examples of Sora images API implementation can be found here https://yesai.su/en/docs/soraimages .

OpenAI / DALL·E 3 Very strong prompt understanding, high quality, “brand name” reliability ~ $0.04 per 1024×1024 image for standard quality. Higher for HD or non-square images.

More expensive per image. Rate limits. Might be overkill if you don’t need ultra-polished images.
Stability AI / Stable Diffusion (via API) Flexible, open models, good quality, many deployment options (including self-hosting) API uses “credits” (1 credit ≈ $0.01), and many image calls cost a fixed number of credits.

Also, earlier, default costs got reduced (0.2 credits per default image) in updates.
Weights & Biases
Quality may vary with complex prompts. If the model version changes or costs shift, you need to adapt. Also compliance/license concerns if you go commercial.
Other / niche APIs (Omniinfer, GetImg.ai, etc) Sometimes cheaper “long tail” options For example, one article claims an API that does “$0.0015 per standard image” for some use case.
Medium
These smaller providers may have less stability, fewer guarantees, less documentation, or limits on usage.
