Who was your favourite Rohirrim character?
I can't quite decide... who was yours and why? There are only few but you have to have a favourite... I think I would say Eomer... he was loyal and true and took care of is little sister. I would be proud to have such a brother...

Does Eowyn count?
I really like Eowyn. I think a lot of people like her and can really sympathize with her character. One, because she refuses to stay behind and let the people she loves put themselves in danger. Two, because she fears a cage. That's one thing that almost everyone fears. Three, because she loves someone who's unattainable. we all go through that, wanting someone we can't have.
Also, she KILLS THE WITCH KING! That was.... in a word..... awesome.
So...yes. I'd have to say Eowyn is my favorite Rohirrim character.

Eowyn and/or Eomer. Theoden is also cool. But I'm a huuuuuuuuuuge Rohan fan, so I like all the Roherrim.
One thing - Tinuviel's Tears.... Personally, I don't think Eowyn would want people to sympathize with her... Doesn't seem like a very Eowyn-like thing... I certainly hate being pitied.

I wasn't alking sympathize as though feeling bad for her. I was talking about being able to relate to her feelings. I don't pity her, but I do feel some of the feelings that she feels. That's what I meant by sympathizing. Just to clarify.
You're welcome for my opinion by the way. Thanks for listening to it/ caring about it.

Yes, I agree with you, Lalaithnindil... and I think Tinuviel's Tears had the right idea... most can realate to Eowyn and it's good to know she choose the right way after the WR... she choose to be a woman and marry. I think that's why so many like LOTR, because everyone can relate to a character.
I'm glad I could hear your opinion and I'm glad you took the time to comment!

I'd like to note that Eowyn was able to defeat the Witch King with the help of Merry. That wasn't very obvious in the movie but it happened.
My favorite has got to be Eomer.
He was banished from his own homeland and he still came to support his people.

I like the rohirrim too with their courage and dignity etc..
so I feel it's my duty to honor Hama the captain ot the king's royal guard. He was always loyal and ready to fight for his king(I'm talking about hte book) and I think his death before the walls of Helm's deep was very dramatical.

I loved Eomer.. he was the most loyal IMO. I agree with Kit ... and he was always there for Rohan and his family no matter what.

King Theoden of course he ride for the help of Gondor and made a great persuasive speech that gave the raiders of Rohan the strength to fight even though Theoden did not behave like a king, my vote goes for him as the best Rohirric. Long live King Theoden

I thought King Theoden made an excellent king, but I didn't think he had that ability to handle the battle-field well.
Some of his militaristic tactics were not the best in certain situations.

My favourite Rohirrim would be King Theoden. I really admire him as a dignified warrior-king, like those wise ones you find in Beowulf or something. He strikes me as a man who would make a good Norse king. He is passionate, but not reckless...and exudes a quiet sternness that is very admirable. I think it's a trait found in a lot of the Rohirrim people.

Eomer. He rocks. He's an awesome young king, and he leads a nation of horsemen. Definately cool. Definately the best.

I like theodred from the description in unfinished tales. He fought ot th edeath to try to hold the fords until Elfhelm could arrive to help. But i think Eomer is really cool, both in book and film. Loyal , fierce and a reasonably decent leader to. Men would follow him to whatever end. 8)
