Haha! I guess viewing the books as one volume as they were originally intended by the author could definitely lead to some confusion. ;)
I am intending to read the books (book i guess) again for the first time in a couple years, so maybe I will have a new favorite! I feel like the chapters can be so long that it is harder to identify a favorite chapter than perhaps a favorite moment? Off the top of my head, I really love the moment in Riders of Rohan where Aragorn reveals himself to Eomer (idk how to do accents anymore). I think it is really majestic and is a really important moment in his character development as a "savior" figure over the course of the saga. It also foreshadows his coronation where he is fully recognized for who he is and no longer lives in obscurity.

Good insight.
