My first thought was Eomer, but I also love Eowyn and Faramir.

yea, faramir. i thought he was really sweet. They totally ruined him in the movie though... his reaction to the ring at first made me go bonkers

That's a tough one! It would be between Eowyn and Faramir. Both are great characters. I also like Eomer, but not as much as the other two!

Everyone is a valuable asset to the movie, but Eowyn is the most courageous.

Oddly, my opinion has changed on this subject. My new favourite character to be introduced is Grima. He's such an interesting concept of a character. I believe there must be one character like him in every book of the fantasy genre. He's a henchman, and he's dark. He is complicated. Does he do Saruman's bidding out of sheer obediance or is he expecting to be paid? All of his motives are in question. I like men like him. Ambiguous men.

Faramir, definitely Farmair for me. In fact he stayed my favorite character on into "Return of the King"...kinda replacing Boromir (who was my favorite character from "Fellowship of the Ring").

Gotta be Treebeard. He's such a loveable character.
