The Elves?

If my memory serves me right then I can safely say that I don't think the Elves ever aided in any battle in the LotR trilogy.

In the book no one came to aid the Men in Helm's Deep, save Gandalf and the Huorns.

Hey guys, Remember to stay on topic!! This isn't a place to discuss ranks, you can do that through PM!
Thanks!

I agree, I don't think any elves came to aid the humans in battle in any of the LotR trilogy books (well except Legolas :P)

From the books, I miss all the songs....Legolas always seemed to be singing and I liked that. However, I understand that Orlando might not be able to sing... *sigh*

sorry for going 'off-topic'. yeah i would've liked it too if legolas would have sung in the movies...it would've taken much time off from the action time though. but in the ttt or rotk movie dont you remember when haldir came with his elves and said something like 'the alliance will be remembered' etc?????????

there was alot of elves in the movie and they did so well.tolkein actually wanted to downplay the elves in the books.as the era of men was coming round and the elves where leaving.

..the addition of the elves into the movies, didn´t in my opinion, ruin the movies...changed them, gave them a different perspective..
..Aragorn & Arwens story also changed the movie, but gave the viewer a line to follow, with hope at the end
,,.different, the same...and yet as one

^yep. but arwen's and aragorn's story is part of the LotR book, it just didn't fit in, it would've messed up the storyline, so it's in the appendices...
