And I think it is more than safe to say that steps are being taken to work this out. While direct suggestions are more helpful, sometimes the only way to begin solving problems is to express feelings. Because we can't come up with a solution until we know what each other are thinking.

Though if you -only- express feelings, you can get any actions being taken if we don't discuss what we want to happen and if the action being taken will make people happy.

Just remember this when you are talking to the Mods about what should happen, a good compromise leaves everyone unhappy, why, because they aren't getting exactly what they want. The forum is a dictatorship, but the mods do listen to what the members of the forum would appreciate, as it is they that actually use it. I understand that many members of the WT are bitter, and suprised at what the Mods have done, perhaps it was rash, perhaps it wasnt, but now they are working to make it a little better.

Expressing opinions and what actions might be taken to solve a problem are usually the way to go, rather than complaining about said change(not that any of you are complaining). I can tell from what i've read, that many members are biting their tounges, they want to say something, but cant becuase it'll sound rude or something...

I realise that too. But as I said, I'm sorry. I think I'm going to let this thread be for a while and mull over whats been going on.

Personally I've found the mods on this forum to be far friendlier than mods on other forums, though I'm probably not getting the full story (because I'm always coming and going) I'd just like to point that out.

First of all Thanks to JF for opening this thread, because all of you have expressed what I started to feel as well. I can only agree with everything you guys have posted before. I do love this forum a lot and I think that the mods and Arwen are very nice to us members and of course this is Arwen's forum and I also feel bad about complaining. Yet everytime I make a post I ask myself if it was against the rules or not and I've developed a fear of posting the wrong thing which has made me kinds unhappy.. I'm sooo sorry for complaining guys, because in the end ur still doing a good job.

My advice to you is dont worry! Pretty much the only time we really worry about peoples posts is when they're so blatantly out of line, for example a previous instance when someone posted soft core ..intimacies in the rp section. Or when theres a repeat offence of undesirable behaviour or whatnot. Generally we, well certainly I, dont really like having to send off pm's about nit picking things in posts or what not. Heck, thats two or so minutes that I could have spent doing other things, more enjoyable things :D

Generally I dont really get bothered by much. Complaints are good, complaining is healthy, it helps bring attention to things that need attending to (the pokey out nail gets a clobbering or however that proverb goes.) It just may take us a while to mull over who gets to pick up the hammer and how best to hit the nail.

We're an ageing group us moddies so we've got to worry about classes, schedules, work, rent, and maybee sleeping once a week too, so we dont get to spend as much time here as we would like to, or used to. We all apologise profusley for that. So in the times that you feel like your complaint isnt getting addressed, dont fret too much, we're not ignoring the complaint or disgregarding it, we most likley would have a thread open in the moddie section discussing the best plan of tackling the issue..or we're probably busy doing other things at the time. Just dont panic or get angry that we're not dealing with the problem!

To address the issue of some people not likeing new things, sometimes we're really not aware that some people may really really not like something. We do try look at it from all angles, things of major importance generally get discussed (in the moddie section) for about a month or even longer before they actually happen. Sometimes we plan for a nice surprise and then when it happens it pops like a bubble and we're all left with goo over our faces. That makes us sad :( We get all exited and then everyone stares at us with blank faces going 'eh, its ok, but its no match for this ball on a paddle!'

when people post their views, they get pounced on by these members, and then the members' groupies come and have the same opinion and it all just makes you feel very small.

I can completly relate, it's happened to me multiple times, more often of late, its really a sucky experience. I'm really not sure how you'd deal with that. You could send pm's stating that you dont appretiate it when *person* talks to you in a certain way, but that can make things worse in certain cases, and if you just dont post in threads where you opinion would clash with *persons*'s then you miss out on some good discussions. My general way of dealing with those sorts of things is to be zen like 'whatever dude, I'm not making a huge fuss over it, no scratches on my cd'

A a general suggestion with the complaints area, just be cool headed and be calm and well thought out about it. Don't post in anger or utter frustration, you'll find you'll bump heads with alot of people. If you take a while to think out your post, re read it a few times just to make sure someone wont take it in an offensive way it will probably get dealt with quicker. As we'd be more focused on the problem rather than trying to keep the peace or jumping to the defence.
If you have a complaint, it's also very handy if you also have a suggestion on how to change it, the idea can be as crazy sounding as possible, but sometimes the crazy ideas may lead to the best soloutions.

As for the imtimidating moderator thing, we really don't mean to be. If you find any of us intimidating or anything, just send us a pm and talk to us like you would a general member, get to know us :D We like getting new friends. Nie wont chase you around the room with a wooden spoon I promise! We may declare nudge wars on each other but thats about it. For example, I used to find Kit scary and intimidating till I got to know her, now she sort of reminds me of a little snapping turtle. Like you can sit on her shell, paint it with glitter and out-run her in a race, but if you poke your finger at her mouth she'll bite you! :D *giggle* sorry Kit, I like to amuse myself.

So to pretty much the reason why I posted this is to just say a general 'chill out dudes and dudettes.'
We'll deal with whatever issues you have when you have them, just try be positive about the experience, makes things easier to deal with and no-one gets annoyed with each other...and us moddies will be trying our darnest to do the same.

:D
