I will vote for the Races & Places. :yes: We could follow the Fellowship's journey.
- The Shire/hobbits
- Arnor/Dunadain
- Rivendell/elves
- Moria/dwarves
- Lothlorien/er, different elves?
- Fangorn/ents
- Rohan/Rohirrim
- Isengard/Istari
- Gondor/Men
- Mordor/Orcs and/or Nazgul

Those are just my suggestions, anyway. That adds up to about 5 months, though, if we do two weeks for each race, so some would have to be cut. :P

We also usually encompass the RP section too, for RotR. So, if we are following the path of the Fellowship, we could have a "Fellowship of the AUers" RP where we each become a race in Middle Earth and try to destroy the Ring.

I absolutely love all of the ideas floating around here! And I'm very happy that many of you are agreeing on one topic.

Like Taur suggested, perhaps we could do a different race for one week or so, like for example we could start on the 9th, like last year:

June 9 - 16 :: Advertising for Return of the Rings
June 17 - 24 :: Shire/Hobbits
June 25 - July 2 :: Hobbit Ball Begins
July 3 - 10 :: Arnor/Dunedain
July 11 - 18 :: Mordor/Orcs
July 19 - 26 :: Moria/Dwarves
July 27 - August 3 :: Fangorn/Ents
August 4 - August 11 :: Lothlorien/Elves
August 12 - 19 :: Elvish Ball Begins
August 20 - 27 :: Rohan/Rohirrim
August 28 - September 4 :: Gondor/Men

Of course this is subject to change.. I just wanted to get a basic idea of how everything would look ;-)

That would definitely be an interesting RP, Smeag... did you want to be in charge of them this year?

I am in charge of the Graphic Cookoff again with Aliana this year. I can be in charge of them, if you need me to be, but I am going to have a very busy summer... so I don't know how much time I will be able to come online.

Just out of curiosity, do we really need a place for Dunedain, Rohirrim, and Men? I mean, they're all men.

I could help set up RP's. I'm not that great at thinking them up though, so that'd be appreciated.

Well, each one is for a different place in Middle-Earth... again, this is just a draft of how things will look, and suggestions on other races will be accepted. :yes:

Nurr, you could also have someone help set up the roleplays with you... have two people running them like Pandora and I did last year.

On the first page I've posted a list of things that need to be run for this year's RotR. ;-) Let me know if anything else should be added or if you'd like to be one of the overseers.

Wouldn't this make more sense?

Advertising
Shire/Hobbits
Hobbit Ball
Arnor/Dunedain
Moria/Dwarves
Lothlorien/Elves
Fangorn/Ents
Rohan/Rohirrim
Elven Ball
Gondor/Men
Mordor/Orcs

If we're following the path of the Fellowship, that's more of the order in which they encounter each of the races. But if we're just doing them randomly, your order is good too. Just decided to mention it. I did like the way you had the elves and then right next the Elven ball, same with the Hobbits, it worked out quite nice... :D

Concerning the trivia, shouldn't the person who won the trivia thing last year host it? I remember Melda won one year, and then the next she hosted it... If the person who won last year would host it, that would be great... Since it's a bit of a tradition now...

Okay, we could follow that order, with the exception that I'd like to try and keep Lothlorien/Elves right before the Elvish Ball, that way there's a smooth transition into it. :yes: Your order works just as good, Darky.

Hm, I wasn't aware of the Trivia thing... would you happen to know who won last year? And that also depends if said person is busy or still active on AU... Either way, I'm sure we'll get it sorted out. I haven't ever participated in it, so perhaps someone who knows something about it can handle it.

I will probably make some banners later on to advertise RotR, and maybe drive some people over here to help out. ;-) I've also found that I have finals the week we're set to start, so that could be a bit of an issue... I'm sure it will all work out however.

I can help with something... I am not sure what the difference between Graphics and Contests is... but I can take up a Contest, and I would be !!DELIGHTED!! to help with the Hobbit ball. :D :D :D

Nurr, if you need ideas for RPs, just holler on over.

I can help with contests =) I've got work and whatnot, but I'll find time to organize a few.

What about Wizards?

EDIT (Some Banners, for Races)
I was trying to aim for the race and not familiar characters. Some of the caps were just bad.... and I did, kinda, stick in a hobbit bias. *hides*

I'll PM Panneth in a sec to sort out what we're doing for graphics, though it looks like Smeag's already got part of that covered :confused:
