I'll see what the other mods think about only restricting awards/nominations for categories you've already won an award in.

And I think we can all agree that nominees can only compete in 2 categories, otherwise, I'll be basically putting everyone's names in polls.

I know some polling lists are short but others are just ridiculously long and alot are with repetitive members.

I know for me I've won 4 awards, I think all in four different categories so I'll go through them again to see what the deal is. I don't usually organize member awards, and last round was the first round that I made awards for it so Ivy's been so busy with life lately that it's been increasingly more difficult for her to do anything as hard as she tries.

The polls close on October 27 - if I did my math correctly. Kit posted them on the 7th and set them to be open for 20 days.
I just had a quick check on a couple of them and it looks like we need run-offs for some of them because two or more members tied, so I guess new polls will be set up after the Hallowfest, unless the Halloween craziness actually manages to kill our poor Kit this time!

But it's great to see so may people voted! Thanks guys.

I think for next time, that if a sig/av combo award is given out again. Actually posting the sig/av combo nominated would be a good idea. It's hard to tell which one is nominated, because members change them. And sometimes I like one combo that a person has better than another they'll have a day later. So that would affect my voting, becuase I don't think one member has the best combo all the time.

Just a suggestion.

The poll for best sig/avatar set isn't for one specific set. It's in general, who has always had the best sig/avatar sets.

Yeah, Aliana... I haven't seen her around recently, but she said she would make the awards in the first weeks of November.

I'll have a look at the polls soon. I promised it would be today, but I won't have time to do it... I'm going out tonight and I didn't plan on that... sorry.
And it reminds me of the job interview I had the other day. They asked me what I found important in a work environment, and I said mutual trust and respect. If someone promises to have something done by a certain date and figures s/he can't make it to deadline, then s/he shouldn't be afraid to step up and tell the manager, ask for help to meet deadline or find an alternative solution.

Alright, I came back earlier than expected and had a look at the polls. We need to have run off polls for four categories:
- For the Shire Award (Most Loyal LotR Fan)
- For the Shire Award (Most Loyal LotR Fan)
- Haradrim Award (Most Into Something Other than LOTR)
- Merry & Pippin Award (Funniest member).

I took the two people with the most votes but for a couple of the categories the votes were really close. I just need a 'yay' (or nay) for you guys that we only put two people in the poll this round. For example for Merry & Pippin we had members who got 8, 7, 6, 5 and 5 votes. Do you think we need to hold a poll with four or five people? I mean some of the other categories didn't even have so many nominations from the beginning.
What do you think will be most fair?

From what I know of past tie-breakers, we only hold a tie-break vote if two people are tied for MOST votes.

ie.

Fitzwilliam Darcy - 10
Admiral Norrington - 10
Daffy Duck - 6
Peter Pevensie 7

The tie-break would only have Fitzwilliam Darcy and Admiral Norrington running.
