I know a lot of forums do have the "Hidden" feature and obviously it lets you go on the forum..err..hidden but I'm just wondering what the point of it is? I mean why would you wish to be hidden?

Sorry if it seems a pointless question but I'm just curious. :-)

LOL! Yeah, that could be it. Using my skills of observation and deduction, I've figured out one or two "hidden" people so that may well be the reason. :lol:

Well, I know I set my status to hidden because I've found that, as Gwen said, when people have seen I'm on in the past, I'd get a lot of really useless "just-saying-hello" or random question PMs, and I'd rather not encourage that... :erm:

How do you make yourself "invisible"? Is it something you can set in your profile?

Yeah it's under "preferences" in your profile ... there's "Hide your online status" and you just choose "yes" if you want to be hidden

Yeah, good question. Now I think about it, being able to hide your status is actually a curious feature, and perhaps kind of unnecessary...

Well, when all this is said... I think my status is actually set to hidden... and now you all want to know why... umm the truth is I don't remember why I changed it *blushes* It's been a while ago now and I forgot about it and never changed it back...

Well. . .I can understand why people would want to stay hidden, but I'm not; I like getting PMs from people, even random ones! :goofy: :juggle: :dance:

I know what Arwen means about 'hiding' from PMs. I think that's probably the only logical reason I can think of....though I don't really have that problem :P But sometimes I make myself 'invisible' on instant messenger for the same reason :D

Im guilty of blocking people on msn just because I only feel like talking to my mum or something.

I hide on msn. Please forgive me my msn contacts. I love em all, but there are just some days where you just dont want the world to see you.
