Okies, well I’m not normally a particularly rantish person, but I have an AU rant.

Of late, it seems that AU has being dieing an awful lot, showing the 'Page cannot be displayed' page frequently, often after you've posted just a couple of times. When it is working, the forum is really slow, it sometimes takes me 5 minutes to load a relatively small thread and I have a pretty decent connection speed. It’s not just happening to me, others have had the problem. :confused:

So I was wondering if there was anything that could be done to stop it happening, or whether it’s just something that’ll pass in due course?

Sorry to be rantish but it's getting me really annoyed and I feel like banging my head against a brick wall, especially as I started to post this, then previewed and lost it all because AU died. :annoyed2:

I agree! I haven't had any problems but just today I couldn't acsess anything A-U at all. I really don't want a crash, that's all... :confused2:

I know Arwen is very busy with RL and everything, and I fully appreciate she can't always be here, but it has been many, many weeks now since we noticed the first couple of problems with AU, and I think it's safe to say, it's getting worse. My main fear, is if the problem is left as it is, will it continue to get worse until it won't work anymore?

There have been at least 3 occassions, were for me, the forum and the main site have not loaded and I've been forced to abandom my AU-ing for the day.

So.... is there any chance of either Arwen being told about the problem, or a Mod being able to try and do something? Perhaps if Arwen hasn't the time to do it herself, she could pass the information on how to fix it to a Mod?

I also noticed that I especially get the 'server failed' notice when I'm trying to post something. So I'll go back and post it again, not knowing whether it worked or not. Quite frustrating.

My posts are posting fine most of the time, but yeah, often A-U won't load at all for five-ten minutes and a couple times it's been longer. I'm not really annoyed, I can be patient, I'm just sorta spooked by A-U crash stories :P and frankly, A-U's my life, I would expire if it were down.

I have this same problem! I thought it was my computer, which is still recovering from brain surgery. Hopefully this problem will soon be fixed 'cause I can't stand it when A-U is down. Sometimes it was down on all five computers in my house!

The exact same thing happens to me, as well, for about a month. I've also gotton the DEBUG mode once or twice this past week...I really hope we can fix this! :(

I have the same problems and I can only agree that it's getting worse from day to day. :( It's really frustrating especially if the forum doesn't load at all. :( I hope it's not too bad and that it can be fixed, because I really can't imagine a summer without AU...

Hmpf.. I haven't really experienced this at all. Maybe it's an Internet browser thing (Explorer VS Firefox?). I'm on Firefox and the forum has been working fine for me. Those of you who have experienced these error messages, what browser do you use?

I use IE 7, but I know this has been happening to Ellie as well and he uses Firefox, so I don't think it's just a browser thing. I've actually tried it on Firefox as well as IE 7 on my computer and it doesn't make a difference. *Shrugs*

I use Firefox all the time and it hasn't really made a difference, A-U's still pretty sporadic at times. Right now it's fine but occasionally it'll die just for a couple minutes, or more often just be really, REALLY slow.

Ahhh! The 'cannot find server' page was just up a little while ago, and I couldn't get here for some time. :blink: That hasn't happened in a few days, but now it's bugging me again.

I'm having the issue where I've turned Automatic login on, but when I first arrive at AU, it has the login box at the bottom, but my name is where it shows which users are on. :confused:

Umm and sometimes I post and look at my post count, and it's 200 or so, then I post again, and look, but it still says 200..
