I dunno... I actually never pay much attention to my post count, but it could have happened The forum goes really weird sometimes, so maybe that's because of that too...
Ohh I remember JF once posted a very clever answer to that. Something about your total post count as viewed in your profile would count all your posts including those made in the Misc. Randomness and the count under your name would only count the posts that counts towards your rank... or perhaps it was the other way around.. I don't know if that's it. I never pay attention to my post count so I can't tell you if that's common...

And that is pretty much it. If you look at your post count on your profile it will give you the total amount of posts you have posted where they count. If you go to your profile and click view all posts, the count there will be higher as it is counting posts in the MR section as well.
I'm not sure if that will help you though, judging by the fact your count seems to be Ok now.
^Like that. Not clicking on the 'search for posts' button. The number that was under the Total Posts section wasn't the same as the one when you look at the number under my avatar on a post. Does that make sense?

Right, I see what you mean. It was probably just a forum glitch. Maybe you had posted 10 times, and for whatever reason the forum was delayed in adding it to your post count.
