Are there any sections devoted to discussing specific cultures/locations/people groups in LotR, such as Rohan, Dale, Mirkwood, the Iron Hills, Gondor, etc.?

Welcome (back?) to A-U Mr. Greytree. I don't think we have met, but I can see you have been a member for a long time.

We don't have any sections to discuss locations. The LotR-oriented part of the forum is roughly divided a book and a movie section, and then sub-divided in each book/movie Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and Return of the King. We tend to discuss the different people and places where it fits the best, fx. there are various Rohan threads but mostly in the TTT sections, because that's where we are first introduced to the Rohirric culture. And we have Elves threads in abundance but they relate to specific questions fx. regarding Arwen giving up her immortality or Haldir's death in the movie.
Then there is a Silmarillion board and a miscellaneous LotR, and a language board... Hmm.. I believe that's about it. If you are looking for a specific location, try to look in the sub-forum where it should be introduced in the book/movie or you may create a new topic. We need some new topics to discuss!

By the way, I dreamed about you last night, which is not odd and stalkerish considering the fact that I constantly dream about people I know, be they friends or acquaintances, but I've only dreamed about A-U members once before. In the dream we were setting the table while plying a card game, which you introduced me to - but I turned out to be the better player.

Oh, but of course I know what you look like. It might not correspond to your physical appearance in the odd parallel universe called the Real World, but I know better!

But honestly, I dream about people all the time. One time I dreamed about a girl from primary-school I haven't seen since... yeah, many years ago. In my dream she was dating sort of a wife-beater guy and she was pregnant!! Very strange!
But last night I dreamed that I took one of my best friends to the airport. And she is actually leaving for NYC today.

The Eä's mind is not all wacko!!
