A more extended, slower paced one would be fine, I'm sure. After all, on other forum things, if it moves too quickly people start to lose interest because they can't keep up. And I'm sure we can find things to fill the time with. Thanks for taking the time to think about it Kit! As we all said, anything at all that we can to do help, we will do.

JF, if you have time issues, you can let me know and I could get up a floor plan.

A lot of people can openly discuss ideas about what events we could hold during the Festival weeks. I think it's been confirmed that we will in fact have a two week event so that others will be able to keep pace --- I think it was one of the bigger issues with last year's fest.

Thanks for explaining Will. I'm still a bit confused, but I trust Kit will have everything cleared up in no time. :)

@ Will - It was thanks to that mention I started this thread. ;)

@ Kit - Ok, well I've got the map ready Kit. I hope it will be Ok. I've made it 800x500 so I hope there is enough room for what you want. Would you like me to post it here or PM you? Also, I'm happy to make a second floor if you think it might be a good idea to have more rooms if it will be lasting for longer. :-)

If you want to PM it to me, that would be great, JF. And thank you for making the map. If you want to go ahead and make a second floor, feel free, because it would be more interesting but if you don't want to, we can always work with one floor. =]

It looks fantastic. =] I probably won't unveil the layout until the start of the fest, so you can go ahead and make the second floor. It's a lot more extensive and probably better laid out than my map last year. :p You should consider architecture.

Great. Thank you. :D

Yes, that's why I didn't post it because I thought you might like to keep it a surprise. I'll start making the second map as soon as I've worked out what's going where. :P

Lol, maybe I should. :teehee:

And if anyone wants to recap what went on last year or to see who participated, here is the thread. :-)

Who knows how I managed to be completely oblivious to this last year, but I'm glad I found this thread, because it sounds really fun! :D Hopefully I will remember and have enough time to participate this year =]

I'm still trying to figure things out, but I'm sure it will make sense as Halloween comes around. I can't wait to participate! :-D

As of now the Hallowfest will tentatively be scheduled for

October 17th through October 31st

Per tradition (of one year running), the killer will be revealed on the 31st (Halloween).

I will have a thread up soon with all the information and guests will be asked to RSVP, pm an optional alias to go by during the event with a brief profile about yourself (ie. your interests, fancies, etc) but not so much so that everyone will obviously know who you are.

If you want side-events to occur during the two weeks, speak now, or otherwise I'll probably just have the basic roleplay.

Two-three days will be in between murders or more frequent depending on how many guests sign up.

PS. If you would like to start advertising to bring in a few more people, feel free to start now. The more the merrier.

I'll try and have that second map ready by this weekend Kit, sorry for the delay, I hope it won't hold you up.

I would definitely like to see a pumpkin carving contest. You can easily buy them before Halloween, and if you get a cheap one early, and use that for the contest, you can still have your regular pumpkin for your own use at home.

It would be nice to have something that everyone can do, rather than something that involves a drawing or computer skill. All you need for this is a pumpkin, kinife, imagination and some sort of camera. :-)

Don't worry about the map, dear. I really won't need it until opening day/night.

The pumpkin carving is a spectacular idea, JF. :D:D:D:D I LOVE IT.

Oh I'm looking forward to the Halloween events as I hardly didn't have any time to participate last year.

I'm absolutely loving the idea of a real pumpkin carving contest. Halloween never was big here and I've never carved a pumkin in my life. The kids around here might carve a turnip but that's it. :-) I'd love to see all your creations!! :-D
And of course people must post pictures of their Halloween costumes!!
