This is your rank, based on the number of posts you have. The gold bars are associated with this rank. How long does it usually take to get to the choose your own rank title ? |

Depends how long it takes you to reach 9000. Which is a very very long time. |

I've been a member since 2005, and while I've not been active all this time, you can see I'm not even close to Custom Rank. So you'll just have to be patient. |

But hey, you're already a Hobbit now! Actually, I thought it was pretty exciting to see my rank change while I moved up the ranks. But when I finally got to 9000 I had stopped paying attention and it was... just another day!  I think it took me... 3-4 years to get to 9000 posts but I also had times where I wasn't very active. |

I wonder how many posts I would have if I had joined when I first found A-U (2004 or something..) Actually, probably around the same because internet forums are banned by my mother but when I got my own laptop in 2007 I ignored the rule.. Now I'm nearly 20 so she can't try to stop me anymore

We're happy you're here! I'm not sure whether the board supports that feature .. but I'm sure someone else will come by to answer that. And one last thing. Instead of posting again right after your own post you may want to Edit it. You will find the Edit button in the bottom right corner of every post you make. Click it and you are able to add to or change your posts anytime you want. What you do now is double-posting and we're not too happy about that because too much of it may be flooding a thread.  Also, next to the Edit button is a Quote button you may use if you want to qoute another post (your own or others) and don't want to write it all up again! |

Helpful A-Uers are very helpful  There's actually a modification we can install that shows your progress toward the next available rank! You can check it out at http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/u ... ession_bar (look at the screenshots - you can see that if we installed this, there would be a progress bar underneath your avatar showing how close you are). Is that something anyone/everyone is interested in?
