Hey mod team! On a Phantom of the Opera forum I was on a few years back (one that had probably the same amount of members as A-U does) they had a thread in which members could post sound clips of them singing and ask for feedback. It was really helpful and informative and just a fun thread to have on the boards, so I was wondering if I could start one here. I know some people might see it as an invasion of privacy or something, but not everyone would have to sing, just listen, and I think it could really be fun to have here, but I didn't want to post it yet in case it violated any rules. Would a thread like this be acceptable here on A-U? |

(I'm not on the mod team, but..) I think it's fine. It doesn't look like something that would break any forum rules. The only thing that could be troublesome would be if constructive criticism turned to bashing. I think we're a good enough place that that wouldn't be a problem, but it's something to keep in mind. I'd also suggest that you put it in Your Life so that people don't have to be as concerned about privacy situations. Since you have to be a registered member to see in there, it would make sure people aren't just randomly looking at the videos. |

I'm with Nurr on this one.  A thread where people post videos of themselves doesn't violate any A-U rules. However, in order to protect the people posting personal videos against random strangers browsing the board I agree that you might want to put the thread in Your Life which is only accesible to registered members.

Ooo! This is such a great idea! I totally would love to listen to everyone sing! However, I probably would not provide much constructive feedback, it will be just "I'm so jealous! You sing so pretty!". I, also, agree with everyone else, Your Life section, ftw. |
