I suggest you that close the forums for the outsiders. Since it can cause your hotmail be hacked by somebody else. I did it at once and my friend did it too. This is a really good site ad I do not wanna see somebody's mail be hacked or else that could happen in the future. I say consider it

The mods will discuss it... but for now, I suggest that you don't put your email on your profile. If someone wants your email address, they can PM you, and vice versa.

No, I think he means only having the forum "viewable" by registered members, not guests.

Yeah you got it. Gwen, because I have been recently investigating the newcomers not everyone seems so nice. I think mods or admin needs to shut the some forums especially where your msn or website is written. Admin needs to shut it against outsiders not us(members)

Well I dunno ... When I`m at my dad`s comp I have big troubles staying logged in and I still love to look around ... pwease don`t. But you could change the profile to be viewed by logged in only? (you havta log in to see ppl's profiles)

Like I said, the best way to protect yourself is by NOT posting your screenames, email address, etc in your profile. If someone wants to talk to you outside of A-U, they can PM you for personal information such as that.

I agree with Bellethiel. Members have a choice whether or not they put information in their profile. They also have a choice to give out details in threads such as their real name, where they live or photos of themselves. That is something members do at their own risk.

Also, some people like to look around a forum before they join, to see if they are interested, and making the forum only viewable once one was logged in wouldn't allow that.

To the best of my knowledge, we haven't had any serious security problems here, so I'm not sure how seriously Arwen would consider taking such an action, especially since I know she's quite busy at the moment.

The ONE AND ONLY problem I have with A-U is that the Tag goes down every once and a while! and I know that there is no REAL way to fix it... (Other than messing with HTML and other stuff like that) (and thats NOT fun) I LOVE A-U and I just wish I could RP with all of my friends like the "good old days" :) (Dumb comment to leave I know!)

That's what I did. But you can always feel free to PM me for my e-mail or MSN - I'd like to give it to you! ;)

yes i agree we all have the chice t put our info so if you don't want anyone coming for you then don't put it up there and if someone REALLY wants your e-mail then they will PM you
yeah and then you have an actual choice to give them
but i haven't had any trouble with that so i don't really understand but that's what i would do
