Am I the only one that's noticed that quite a few of our site's mods are not very active, and only have a couple posts? :confused:

Well....yeah I've noticed it but...there the same as everyone else. I'm sure quite a few of them *patrol* but don't post.

I think it's safe for me to say that the reason a lot of the mods don't post often here is because they have other jobs around AU. According to Arwen, a lot of them have "behind-the-scenes" jobs, and that is why they aren't seen as much.

As you know there is also a whole website to run and update besides this forum and Arwen the webmissy needs all the help she can get. :)

Yep, that's what I was thinking as well. The Mod board probably takes a lot of time up too... :teehee:...only joking Mr and Ms Mods....

Check out THIS thread to get to know the mods and THIS thread for general mod info.

Some mods have few posts just because they haven't been very active around the new forum. There are mods who spend a lot of time, say, on the tag or the chatroom, and less on the forum and there are some mods who act in a more advisory capacity than any thing else. There are also mods who for personal reasons are unable to mod at the moment, and yes, there are mods who have disappeared into the blue or who have left. We also have real life lives (I think one of the mods is married) that require attention as well, and sometimes mods need time off. :p

That explain things a bit better? :)

Some mod's spend an Insane amount of time on the chat, I was a chat only mod at one stage, but then it was offered a while back that chat mods could be forum mods as well.
I'm a patroller, I only make one or two posts a day, but I still read a load of threads and things..
So you may not 'see' me, but I'm there

I'm good, though I do have a tendencey to be incredibly cynical, and say the word that means something is covered in blood a lot.

I find the chat mods are very very very strict, I got banned for about 6 months for saying Tolkein is smelly.

Oh, well I see Jo a lot... :) I'm talking about people who have, like, 2 posts. Seriously. And they were made a year ago...

Well, I can see about the chatroom. But if they're on the chatroom, why do they need to be forum mods? :confused:

Well. I guess I'll give you a bit of classified info... :P

Long, long ago, there were different types of Moderator. There were the Chat moderators, the Tag moderators, and the Forum Moderators. Then, Arwen realized that if she trusted a moderator enough to take care of one section of the site, then why didn't she trust them with all the sections?

Thus, it came to pass that all moderators were made to become equal global moderators, with powers spanning from Tag to Forum.

The End. :)

And also, we've got a little system in the Moddie Forum that we like to call THE LIST. This is our place where we record bannings, susponsions, and people for our fellow moddies to keep an eye on. The chat-oriented moddies need to be members of the forum to post in there. So. That's why. :P

If you check out one of the links Henny gave out, several are active, some are inactive.
Some have disappeared in the same way forum members tend to...just...disappearing.
One or two have comp troubles.
Some have said their outside life is sooo active they can't make time for modding.

Arwen the Webmaster keeps these inactive people listed as mods. If I remember correctly, it's in the hope they'll come back someday.

Yeah I agree, but it just sounded a little mean because you said that right after I said I'd most definitely be on that list... I didn't mean to be rude, though ;)
