Post subject:  Animated Avatars - Updated
I tried making animated avatars a while ago, but without much success (see below) and mainly due to the lack of decent film clips. So I gave it up. Yesterday I stumbled on literally hundreds of movie clips from various films, including LOTR. Where did I find all this? On my own computer! My sneaky brother has been making them for years and he never even told me. So (after I strangled him) I began to sift through them and actually make something decent (well I think they are decent anyway).

P.S When he shows me how to make the clips I shall post a tutorial for y'all so hang in there folks. :-)

omg JF i can't wait for your tutorial either! this past week i have been endlessly trying to figure out how to take a a clip from my dvds...

Heh, that's the longest one there Mrs.Gamgee. It has 150 seperate images I believe and it took Imageshack ages to upload it. :lol:

Aww..thanks Gil. :blush: I won't be posting the tutorial until next week (maybe tomorrow) so I hope you can hold on. :P


I know you have Haldir! I'm not sure how to do it myself yet, i think it's something to do with Imageready. Apparently it's really simple, but I think I'll let my brother do the LOTR clips - I'd just be here all year capping the entire film otherwise. ;)


Thanks Lady Dark Moon. The first ones I did don't look quite right. The clips stand out too much. The Frodo clip is in the shape of the Lothlorien brooch. :-)

Lol, yeah. :D I think on of the main things about animated avatars is to try and disguise the fact it's a box. So I figured out how to make them into different shapes but actually they are still the same. ;) Alll will be revealed. :bye:
