Edit: Just to let you know, I've just moved all these pictures to a different folder on photobucket, so that's why none of the links work. If people want, i can re-post them, but there will be more art posted once the camera gets back from Boston, along with my dad. ;) However, for now please feel free to enjoy the graphics update (which is the Oct. 20th one).

Hi all... I've decided it's time to make myself an art portfolio on here, so all those who wish on A-U can see my work. :) Let's start with some sketches of Frodo/Frodo and Sam I've done recently... (I'll just be posting the links, at least for now. So hopefully you don't mind 'individual clicking' too much... :confused: )

I guess i'll post them in the order i did them. Seems logical. ;)

This next one is...possibly at the party in fotr, or maybe some other festive gathering when he was younger. I'm pretty happy with the expression on this one. (You know, that "skeptical smile..." sort of.)

Young Frodo and little Sam... (They are 12 years apart in age, after all--with Frodo being the elder, if that wasn't quite clear. ;) ) I've done several like this... Maybe i can post the others sometime.

In this one, i suppose the Ring's getting to him... At any rate, another Frodo in Mordor pic. I'm not as happy with it as some, but i'll post it anyway.

Frodo and Sam in Mordor... I guess i was going for a pic i saw from the "alternate version" of the star-in-the-cloudwrack scene, if you've heard of that... I'm pretty happy with this one.

Also, here's one i did of Frodo and me, using pen (tracing over regular pencil) and watercolor pencil (a special kind of colored pencil on which you 'paint' with water after you color a drawing, so that the colors really 'bloom'.) I drew this because i was sad about Elijah having to cancel his appearance at ORC this year. But as you can see, i'm not alone. ;)

I'd also like to post a few other drawings...

Here's a sketch of Haku and Chihiro from Spirited Away. (Great movie!) I'm happy with how Haku turned out, but Chihiro doesn't look very much like herself, at least to me... I guess she looks nice, tho.

And a watercolor pencil drawing i did of Howl and Sophie, before the water was added. (It's supposed to be post-movie. I'm not completely happy with it, but it's okay i guess. I think Howl turned out better than Sophie. You can see by the blue hair that i was kind of going for a slightly anime look... I mean, the film is anime after all. I don't know much about drawing in that style yet, but i plan to learn. ;) )

Moving back to Frodo (kind of), here's a sketch of Lij i did on the anniversary of last year's ORC... Not sure it turned out being my best, but i'll post it for you anyway.

Lastly, a random sketch of a dark-haired girl... You may notice the "z" on both her necklace and the wings of the butterfly... That's there for a reason. You see, this girl was kind of representing either a character in my own world, or the place that the songs of Evanescence take one to (sorry, hard to explain...)--tho i don't know that i was thinking she was necessarily supposed to be Amy Lee when i drew her...she just has dark hair and a mysterious expression, that's all--or both. Sorry if that was confusing. (You may also notice that there are 'spikes' on the Z's outer lines...that's because i didn't realize that Evanescence's logo was a Z with a spike through the middle!) The dress of the girl in the sketch is off the shoulder... I hope that doesn't cause any problems. ;) At any rate, here's the link.

*applauds* Yay, lovely art Eariel! I loved all of your sketches so far, though my favourite one would probably be the "Frodo and lil Sam" one. :) You have such a neat way of drawing eyes (I wonder if that has something to do with a certain "eye-obsession", if you know what I mean? :P)
I've no idea about movies like "Spirited Away" because I'm not that fond of anime movies, but anyway, beautiful drawings!

Thank you both! ^Thanks for the encouragement---that's a fact i've discovered through experience. ;) It certainly makes one feel better when a drawing didn't quite turn out how you wanted it to.
Eye obsession lol, Forever... :P Well, i'm certainly 'obsessed' with a particular pair of eyes, if you know what i mean... (Whenever i come across a nice blue colored pencil, it makes me want to use it for a certain purpose, which you can probably guess. ;) ) I love drawing eyes in general, tho... I'm glad you like my style. (I also like drawing Frodo and little Sam, so i'm glad you like that one too!)
You should see Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle... Even if you're not that fond of anime, these have a real emotional depth to them that you might like even so, and...it's hard to describe. Suffice it to say, Miyazaki's films are very good. ;) (As well as at least somewhat fantastical, usually, and that's all the better! :P ) Anyway, thank you both. :)
