Excellent work! All of them are great, but I especially love your One Ring avatars. The effects you used on those are wonderful-it makes the Ring look so striking. Anyway, great job!

Those are awesome Eragonshadeslayer!! Who knew that a lunatic could make such good graphics? I especially love your one ring avatars, and the mouth of sauron Keep up the good work; I would love to see more!

did you do a vectorization on the second Pippin avatar? because if you did, that's REALLY good for a beginner. or did you just use the "Cutout" effect?

Truthfully, I don't know which effect I used(If it was vectorization I did it accedently. How do you use/what is vectorization?), and using cutout does not give me the same result.

okay, you must have used something i dont know.
Vectorization is very complicated, if you do it right it makes a photograph like it was drawn (somewhat). Here's an avatar of Natalie Portman vectorized (this was done by someone who is very good at vectorization):
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y66/colorbox/sw21.jpg
if you click on the link and look at it that's very close to a vectorization. I don't know how to do them, I don't want to learn until a while...

I think I know how to make a picture look like it was drawn, and it was pretty easy....I did it for this avatar of Cate Blanchett that I made:
maybe you were meaning a different effect....
by the way eragon, you're graphics are very good!! especially for a beginner

Thanks people, all these comments make me feel good
Like I said, I don't know what effect I used on the avatar, it was my second graphic and I was still in 'click random buttons until you get something cool' mode. Here are more avatars:
