I do believe this is the third battle between Goldleaf and myself! :-D This time we are featuring several songs that deal with unrequited or impossible love, and we can use any couple we like to illustrate the song. If any of you are interested in hearing the songs, the links are provided. :)

"Already gone" is so obviously A&E ^_^ So I've made a sig set that, though it doesn't feature Aragorn, it's still got that A&E spirit! :)

Ok, so I tried to make something yesterday, but I didn't have time to work on it and it looked horrible. :-P I don't have time to make anything today, since I have to leave in about 6 minutes. And two days later, I can finally get on the computer. :duh: I'm really sorry about the wait!

I have to say that your blending has gotten to be incredible! I really like your use of text and placement as well. :) This is indeed an A/E song!

So, I'm currently still in love with Logan and Jean from X Men, and I think their storyline is so beautiful...and depressing, of course. :-P For those of you who haven't seen the movies, and I know several of you haven't, the explanation for why I chose this is a total spoiler for the end of the third movie.

For those of you who have seen this, you know that Logan is the one who has to kill Jean and stop her from tearing everything apart. I think that scene is one of the most romantic scenes in the trilogy because he's the only one, at that time, who loves her enough to kill her. Nobody else could get through to her, but he brought her back for just a moment. Hence, the chosen lines "You know I love you so, I love you enough to let you go."

Brilliant set, Silvery! :-D I've seen that Xmen film, and you summed up the relationship between Jean and Logan perfectly!

EEEEKKK!! :swoon: That was my reaction when I saw your set, Goldie! I seriously squeed out loud. :-D I can't even tell you how gorgeous the colors are, and Sparrabeth will always rock my world. Wonderful, wonderful job.

Aww, thanks, PD! :) I adore bittersweet couples, which is why almost all of my couples are non-canon and so heartbreaking in their impossibility.

So, I made a banner and just looked at about 6 hours later. I hate it. I'm going to make a new one and edit this post. ;)

Here it is! I messed around with the color a little bit too much, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I've been trying out a new style, but this one is back to my old tried and true. :)

I love your banner, Silvery - the colours are fantastic, and it's got that creamy shiny quality you're so good at ^_^

Here's my next volley... I've chosen Tristan and Yvaine from Stardust for "Self inflicted" - I know they're together at the end but for a part of the film it looks like Tristan will choose Victoria, this girl who he was going to present Yvaine, a fallen star, as a birthday present to, in order to gain her affections.

But he doesn't, and turns Victoria down for Yvaine :-D But for a while Yvaine's really heartbroken. I think this song really represents well her feelings for him ^_^
If you know the film, then sorry for the long explaining :lol:

Oh, I love that movie! Those witches scare the heck out of me, though. They're so ugly that they're frightening. :-P Tristan and Yvaine's relationship is adorable, and that Victoria girl is a jerk! I was shocked that he was going back to Victoria...and sighed happily when he unceremoniously dumped her.

I love the soft look your set has! I especially like the purple, since it's my favorite color. :-D I'm thinking that your graphics have gotten so good that it's time to upgrade your fonts. If you're interested, I can send you the links to some of the best. :)

Finally, to my banner. I know I've already used this couple (and this exact scene), but something about a few of the lines in the song just screamed Logan/Jean. I wanted to use the scene when she gets all weird on him and they majorly make out, but the pictures for when Jean burned his arm or something like that weren't that great. Plus, that scene's a bit much in general. :-P So, I went for my other idea. I like how the lyrics fit "You are the weapon I choose" because she's basically tearing him apart there. Literally. :lol: Ok, shutting up now.

You're welcome! :) Well, I need to get some new fonts myself, so when I'm downloading them I can try to write a tutorial for you! What kind of computer do you have? I have a PC Windows.

Thank you! :-D I'm glad you like it. Oh, I know! I don't even know how Jean starts to dissolve stuff like that. That third movie doesn't explain enough of what's going on. That scene reminds me of the newer version of The Day The Earth Stood Still because things starts to get eaten/dissolved in almost the same way as what Jean does to everything. :lol:

Yes, the Beauty and the Tragedy just screams A/E! I really like what you did with the colors, and the blending is flawless! The small font looks nice, too. ;) I don't mind at all if you use it! I think I stole it from Aliana, so it's not really my idea. heehee The fonts I normally use for that are Trajan Pro, OptimusPrinceps, and Times New Roman.

I naturally used A/E for my banner, and I like how peaceful it looks. Eowyn is just too pretty!

Thank you! Yay for Trading Yesterday and their brilliance! Ooh, I love your volley, it's so beautiful :) Eowyn really is just very pretty. I don't get how people say Arwen's prettier than her, because to me at least, Eowyn is ten hundred times more beautiful than her. :-D She's just naturally lovely.
Now, here's my next volley! Again, it's A&E, because "Angels" is another song I've always associated with them :)

Ok! The next time I get new fonts, I'll send you a sort of tutorial that will probably be too detailed and will most likely confuse you. :lol:

So, I've already ranted on and on about how much I love this set, but I'll write it where everyone who is stalking this can see. ;) The placement is brillant, the glow is exactly what I would have done with this, the font is stunning (Trajan Pro?), and overall it's the best you've ever done. Period. Plus, I've tried forever to tone down the orange/red colors in the screen captures, and I can't ever seem to make it work. You've done what I've never been able to do. :notworthy: [/endrant]

I don't like this banner at all because I feel like it's a step backwards. Oh well. Not everything can be the way you want it to be. :) I chose the Phantom and Christine because that's exactly how Christine feels at the end of the movie. Her lines are, "Angel of music, you deceived me. I gave you my mind blindly." She's be taken in by this man who has romanced her with music, and he turns out to be this monster who wants to kills her fiance. But, of course, they still love each other in spite of everything. ;)
