For your Frodo/Boromir one, I think you should play around with the gradients and see where that takes you. My banners just started improving this past month, so don't be frustrated/worried if it takes you a long time.

You've got a really great start, seriously! I'll try and write up something more in depth later, but for the moment: Harthad's got a good point on gradients. They are so helpful. You can do clipping masks (right click on stuff in the layer window) which lets you isolate. So, for example, adding more contrast to the Frodo and Sam picture without doing the background - just add a clipping mask to a contrast layer. Sorry, these probably don't make much sense. I'll try again.

thanks so much, Harthad and Nurr I'll try that with the gradients, and if I can figure it out, the clipping mask too. you're so helpful! edit: I tried doing this to the banner, though it didn't work like I wanted it to. oh well.

I would try blending with background. It makes graphic more etheral plus gives all images rather close coloring.
But you are doing geat for now!

Great improvement! the blending on the Galadriel/Frodo banner works very well.

I agree with Legolas, the Galadriel/Frodo banner is pretty awesome. Your blending is great, especially on that one and the first one. And the glowy text on the second Sam banner is cool.

awh, thanks guys! practice seems to be improving things. and just a question... does anyone have ideas for fonts? I need some that really work with the LotR theme, and I use the same fonts pretty often.

The Galadriel one turned out really well! It blended together quite nicely. And I really love the composition of the Frodo and Same one - especially the picture on the far left. Other good fonts are the Jellyka ones (that you can find here: http://www.dafont.com/search.php?psize=m&q=jellyka )

thanks, Nurr! gorgeous fonts. I downloaded a few of them. here's a couple more I made just to play with some fonts. I think the first one has too many pictures. and on this one, I was going for a different picture of Frodo, but all the others were too small so I had to use this one. and this one I barely did anything to, I just loved the picture!
